Tip: Categorizing images

Hello, Blackfish!

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]

[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations"). Pro-tip: The CommonSense tool can help you find the best category for your image.

Hej. Dzięki za wiadomość. Wiem, że dawno nie edytowała, dlatego wysłałem jej maila. No i sama przyznała się, że pomyliła kilka nazw. Poprawiłem kościoły w Kościelcu i Krużlowej, ale to rzeczywiście strasznie mozolna praca. -- CLI (talk) 07:36, 1 March 2013 (UTC)

Herby gmin

Witaj, taka prośba: jeśli ładujesz herby gmin to nazwę podawaj w takim standardzie: "POL gmina XXX COA.svg". Nazwa bez słowa "gmina" jest dla gmin o statusie miasta. Pozdrawiam Poznaniak (dyskusja) 15:15, 1 March 2013 (UTC)

Dwa przeniosłem, w jednym przypadku administrator musi najpierw usunąć przekierowanie. Pozdrawiam Poznaniak (dyskusja) 15:43, 1 March 2013 (UTC)

Do usunięcia zbędnego rediru po przeniesieniu pliku nie musisz używać szablonu {{delete}} tylko {{speedy}}. Pozdrawiam Poznaniak (dyskusja) 19:15, 9 March 2013 (UTC)

Inkscape i inne?

Witaj, ja używam do wszystkiego Corela i również robię ręcznie. Inkscape wg mnie nie nadaje się do precyzyjnego wykonywania grafiki. Z czasem uzyskasz większą wprawę i będziesz to robił znacznie szybciej. Jednakże nad niektórymi herbami trzeba przysiąść nawet kilka dni. Automatyczna wektoryzacja nigdy nie jest zadowalająca. W podanych przez Ciebie przykładach również robiłem ręcznie a efekt wynika w 1 przypadku z tego, że prawdopodobnie oryginał był robiony częściowo z automatu w 2 z jakości pliku źródłowego. Jedyne pliki, które robiłem automatem to herby województw i guberni Królestwa Polskiego (Category:Coats of arms of Voivodships of Królestwo Polskie, File:KP gubernia warszawska (1845-1866) COA.svg). Żeby uzyskać w miarę zadowalającą dokładność stworzyłem gigantyczne pliki, które ważą jak zwykły .png a nie .svg. Pozdrawiam Poznaniak (dyskusja) 21:02, 10 March 2013 (UTC)

Herb Franciszka

Gdyby poprawiali to bym nie miał nic przeciwko. Problem w tym, że robili to ludzie nie znający się za bardzo na grafice wektorowej ani nie mający za dużych umiejętności plastycznych. Już poprawiłem. Pozdrawiam Poznaniak (dyskusja) 12:21, 27 March 2013 (UTC)
