Thanks for uploading Image:North_America_C_Current.jpg. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikimedia Commons (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page. If the content is a derivative of a copyrighted work, you need to supply the names and a licence of the original authors as well.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag, then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use cc-by-sa-2.5 to release it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license or PD-self to release it into the public domain. See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find all your uploads using the Gallery tool. Thank you. - I take it you have difficulty reading... It says on that image it is CC-BY-2.5 and comments should be directed to my talk on Wikinews --Brianmc 21:07, 7 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Village pump
Did you actually mean to ask a question at Commons:Village pump#Accredited photographers? The section you added has no text. —Ilmari Karonen (talk) 17:16, 16 May 2009 (UTC)
- I put the heading in prior to filling in detail. Following an edit conflict I now have my query/proposal in place thanks. --Brian McNeil / talk 17:26, 16 May 2009 (UTC)
[edit] File:David-Knopfler-myspace.jpeg may be deleted
Česky | Deutsch | English | Español | Suomi | Français | Nederlands | Português | Русский | +/−
The File:David-Knopfler-myspace.jpeg which you uploaded has been tagged OTRS pending for more than 30 days. This tag indicates that an email setting out permission to use the file was sent to the OTRS team. Unfortunately, we cannot find any record that such an email has been received, and accordingly the file remains without permission. Unless the OTRS team receives evidence that permission has been granted within 15 days of today's date, the file will be deleted. If you have already sent the permission, please re-send it to "permissions-commons
wikimedia.org" now. At the same time, please leave a message at the OTRS noticeboard so that a volunteer can follow this up. Alternatively, you can contact an OTRS volunteer directly. HersfoldOTRSBot(talk) 20:50, 7 June 2009 (UTC)

Hello Brian McNeil!
Thank you for providing images to Wikimedia Commons. Commons images are used by editors on many projects in many languages. Each image is put into categories. This helps other editors find them. Please add categories to each image you upload.
To add an image to a category, add the following code to the end of the page.
-
For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbit of comets, add the following to the image description page:
-
-
This will make the diagram show up in the categories: Astronomy diagrams, Comets.
For further information on categories read Commons:Categories.
The CommonSense Tool often helps you find the best category for your image.
Here is a gallery of your images. Please check that each image has a category. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the help desk. Thank you.
