[edit] Category sorting
Hi! I've noticed you did a bunch of edits like this one. Is there a specific reason for using upper case? Also, it would be better if you substed the templates: it uses less ressources and is more easy to read for humans. Cheers, Pruneautalk 08:34, 4 May 2009 (UTC)
- Most Subcategories start with "Chess ?...", with either a major or minor letter at "?". I think, that those categories shoudt be sortet not case-sensitive at that position of the string.
- "uc" is not a template, its a function, that is surely allways in the memory of the server. Therefore (no file access needed) I think, that it needs only tiny resources. Cäsium137 (T.) 18:19, 6 May 2009 (UTC)

- I agree that it is better to go for non case-sensitive sorting, but that can be achieved by using [[Category:Chess|Chess boxing]], which is more human readable. The other problem with {{uc}} is that for example Category:Chess by country ends up in the wrong place in Category:Chess. Any category added later on will also end up in the wrong place, since using all-caps is not something that most users do intuitively. You might be right about performance (which we shouldn't care about anyway, sorry for mentioning it), but the point on human-readability remains. Cheers, Pruneautalk 18:42, 6 May 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Removing category Category:Chess bitmap pieces
Hello Cäsium137, why did you remove some images like [1], [2] and [3] from the category Category:Chess bitmap pieces? Jelte (talk) 08:07, 7 May 2009 (UTC)
I want to enforce the use of the vectorversions (SVG) of the images instead of the Pixelimages (PNG).
- Could you please use the template
{{vector version available|new image name.svg}}, but leave the categories on the image pages. All images should have categories, see above (section Please link images). Jelte (talk) 16:13, 7 May 2009 (UTC)

I've only resized the first upload, but I'am sure, that this image is from the Hubble Space Telescope. Cäsium137 (T.) 20:22, 8 July 2009 (UTC)
- Not according to the link given as a source, and it is nowhere to be found on http://hubblesite.org or http://www.spacetelescope.org. So unless we get explicit permission from the author (Robert J. Vanderbei), this image cannot be kept. –Tryphon☂ 09:47, 10 July 2009 (UTC)
No longer my problem. If deleted, then it will be so. Cäsium137 (T.) 14:20, 10 July 2009 (UTC)
