Hello, and thank your for sharing your files with Commons. There seems to be a problem regarding the description and/or licensing of this particular file. Please remember that all uploads require source, author and license information. Could you please resolve these problems, which are described on the page linked in above? Thank you. [edit] A couple of things

Hi Caomhan27, that province map of yours made me curious (I've been writing about Ireland for Norwegian language wikipedia) so I looked at your contribs. That may have been a good thing, because there are a couple of things that needs fixing:

  1. You should take that message above concerning Image:Newcontah2.svg seriously, you haven't added a licensetag to it which means that technically you haven't released it and the image is unfree and thus will be deleted from Commons. That's easy to fix however, just edit the imagepage here and add {{PD-Self}} (or a different license, but I noticed your other images are licensed like this).
  2. Images should be linked via categories, see {{Please link images}} for links and info on how to do that. I've added Category:Satellite pictures of Ireland and Category:Satellite pictures of the United Kingdom to your upload Image:Atlantic Archipelago.PNG. And that brings us to
  3. Image:Atlantic Archipelago.PNG where I think you may have given an incorrect source, since this is a satellite photo and you're stating that this is your own work Face-wink.svg Unless you're an astronaut that does not seem very likely. If you found this image on a NASA website you should site the url as source and write {{PD-USGov-NASA}} as the license.

Feel free to ask if there's anything I can do to help, happy editing Finn Rindahl 01:14, 11 September 2007 (UTC)

im pretty new fin so my contribs are not massive and a bit messy, but i hope they will Iimprove, I think Its ok if they delete the above image as i uploaded far to many versions between my first regular PNG picture file upload and having to learn what SVG stood for and trying to learn how to use inkscape correctly... LOL yes fin you caught me, im not an astronaut, i will fix it soon, just my cutting corners streak im afraid and thanks again for your help hope your writing about Ireland for Norwegian language wikipedia goes down well, and if i can help somehow give me a shout Caomhan27 23:31, 11 September 2007 (UTC)

Warning sign
This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Flag of Eueriio.svg. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikimedia Commons (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page. If the content is a derivative of a copyrighted work, you need to supply the names and a licence of the original authors as well.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag, then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{self|cc-by-sa-3.0}} to release it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license or {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find all your uploads using the Gallery tool. Thank you. --Filnik 17:36, 15 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Ireland Rugby Flag

Hello, sorry for my bad english, I hope you will understand. This morning, the description of the file was blanked: no licence, no description, no author. So I reverted to the original version. Now, I reverted too because the image you have uploaded is not the one I have uploaded. If you want to add your own image, you can, but not overwriting this one. Because the shamrock svg file is used on a lot of wikis around the world. If you want to change the flag, upload your own file with a different name, add a description, and you can use it on all wikis you want, but don't crash this original file ! historicair 21:13, 19 September 2007 (UTC)

historicair is right here, you must not upload a different image over an excisting one unless you are the original uploader and/or it's evident that the new version is a just a technical improvement of the excisting. If you mean that Image:Flag of Ireland rugby.svg is not the correct flag/symbol to be used in wikipedia-articles, upload a the other version under a different name and discuss in relevant wikiproject which version should be used. If you make another new image upload at Image:Flag of Ireland rugby.svg that will be concidered vandalism I'm afraid. Thanks, Finn Rindahl 21:27, 19 September 2007 (UTC)

Eh ok lads thanks for answering but the original image is under the heading "flag of Ireland rugby" and shows up in all rugby related articles for ireland, this shamrock image is not factual whereas the image i uploaded is, I was previously told that you should change it under its original name, so what now Caomhan27 22:32, 19 September 2007 (UTC)

If there is consensus (I just skimmed the discussion pages on en:wiki and I don't know the first thing about Rugby - I do know that anything concerning Irish flags could be rather controversial though...) to use Image:Irelands Flag.svg instead of Image:Flag of Ireland rugby.svg in rugby related articels for Ireland, the image link should be changed in those articles/templates at en:wiki. BTW, do remember to add a license to Image:Flag of Eueriio.svg above. Keep ut he good work. Regards, Finn Rindahl 22:50, 19 September 2007 (UTC)

Thats helpful Finn but could you give me a quick guide as to how to go about that i.e (image link should be changed in those articles/templates at en:wiki) doing that please? Caomhan27 18:35, 20 September 2007 (UTC)

Hm, it seems you did get it right here [1] for instance. I'm sorry, but I'm really not sure how those templates are constructed - seems to be a lot of nesting, one template inside another and so on. I also noticed that some of these templates seem to be protected. You'd better find someone experienced in the rugby-project at en:, and (s)he might be able to help you. Regards, Finn Rindahl 20:04, 20 September 2007 (UTC)
p.S: Remember to add a license to Image:Flag of Eueriio.svg above. Finn Rindahl 20:04, 20 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Irelands_Rugby_Flag.svg

Image deletion warning Image:Irelands_Rugby_Flag.svg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this image, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. If the file is up for deletion because it has been superseded by a superior derivative of your work, consider the notion that although the file may be deleted, your hard work (which we all greatly appreciate) lives on in the new file.
In all cases, please do not take the deletion request personally. It is never intended as such. Thank you!

[edit] File:4pf.svg

Dear Caomhan27,

would you please be so kind to add a sufficient description to this flag. Until now there is no description at all nor a sufficient categorisation. I have just now changed its categorisation from Category:Flags to Category:Unidentified flags (see Template:Categorise for example). Otherwise this file may not be found by other users to be used appropiately. Regards, --ludger1961 (talk) 15:59, 27 December 2008 (UTC)

[edit] File:Atlantic Isles.svg

Hi Caomhan, I just deleted File:Atlantic Isles.svg which you uploaded in September 2007, because the file was empty. Pruneautalk 09:41, 29 October 2009 (UTC)
