[edit] Please remain calm and collegial

It is important to keep a cool head, especially when responding to comments against you or your edits. Personal attacks and disruptive comments only escalate a situation; please keep calm and remember that action can be taken against other parties if necessary. Attacking another user back can only satisfy trolls or anger contributors and leads to general bad feeling. Please try to remain civil with your comments. Thanks! You were out of line, calling Cat "Prick" in this edit.   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 23:17, 21 June 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the warning and all but it's nice that you didn't drop a note on his page for downright insulting my integrity despite being a long standing contributor. Longer than both him and you for that matter. Cburnett 23:44, 21 June 2007 (UTC)

Hey Cburnett, can you tell me how/why this link is not working for you? pfctdayelise (说什么?) 12:52, 9 August 2007 (UTC)

When I pick a license it still fetches it and shows it. Indeed, the select tag has onchange=licenseSelectorCheck(). Cburnett 13:01, 9 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Butterworth orders.svg

Image deletion warning Image:Butterworth orders.svg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this image, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. If the file is up for deletion because it has been superseded by a superior derivative of your work, consider the notion that although the file may be deleted, your hard work (which we all greatly appreciate) lives on in the new file.
In all cases, please do not take the deletion request personally. It is never intended as such. Thank you!

[edit] Inkscape Question

Hello Cburnett, I have a question for you about Inkscape. I saw your Image:Artificial neural network.svg, I've been trying to make several images myself for b:Artificial Neural Networks. My question is, How do you get the arrows at the end of the lines? When I try to do the same thing in Inkscape, they aren't rendered correctly once I upload them. Is there some kind of special trick to get the arrows to render? --129.32.12.85 17:37, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

Yes there is. Hit alt-ctrl-c on each line to invoke the "Stroke to Path" command. The SVG rendered mediawiki uses apparently doesn't understand arrow heads as Inkscape does. That command is a one-way destructive thing so make sure you have a copy of original before you do it, if you care, because you can then no longer change the arrow head type without redrawing a line. Cburnett 18:05, 29 October 2007 (UTC)
Thanks! I have a few images that I can do that to right now. --Whiteknight 22:41, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] RE: Canon EF 75-300mm III USM

Hi,

Thanks for the correction. There is no page I can find for the EF 75-300 III USM, so I removed the link. Best Regards -- Relic38 00:03, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] deprecated function in your monobook.js

Dear user, I noticed that you use the includePage function in your monobook.js page.

This function is now obsolete, as the importScript function was introduced with rev:35064 to the MediaWiki Javascript core library wikibits.js. It also keeps track of already imported files.

To allow us to remove includePage from Mediawiki:Common.js I'd kindly ask you to replace its use with importScript (same syntax!). Thanks! --Dschwen 17:03, 22 May 2008 (UTC)

Hello Cburnett!

Thank you for providing images to Wikimedia Commons. Commons images are used by editors on many projects in many languages. Each image is put into categories. This helps other editors find them. Please add categories to each image you upload.

To add an image to a category, add the following code to the end of the page.

[[Category:Category Name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbit of comets, add the following to the image description page:

[[Category:Astronomy diagrams]]
[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories: Astronomy diagrams, Comets.

For further information on categories read Commons:Categories.

The CommonSense Tool often helps you find the best category for your image.

Here is a gallery of your images. Please check that each image has a category. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the help desk. Thank you.
