[edit] Wappen Deutsches Reich - Reichsadler 1889.png

Hello Mr. Liuzzo,

I am conducting a study of the imperial eagle as a symbol used by West Europe nations. I would like to know if you could furnish me with the vector file of the "Wappen Deutsches Reich - Reichsadler 1889.png" [ http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bild:Wappen_Deutsches_Reich_-_Reichsadler_1889.png ], this would only be for private use.

Regards.

[edit] Imperial Eagle of the Prussian-German Empire 1888-1918

Dear Mr. Liuzzo,

Thanks for your response.

I am aware, by self experience, of the huge amount of work it represents a piece like yours. Let me start saying that your work is diverse and contains extraordinary detail. Evidently, the only reason behind my request of a vector file was such detail, which I wanted to extract to illustrate some shared and common traces with other imperial eagle drawings I already have (Austria, Germany, Spain, etc.). My study is mainly focused on the graphical aspects and evolutions of the imperial eagles used as national symbols rather than on historical facts. This is the reason why I "dissect" the images by heads, tails, wings, claws and then make graphical comparisons among them (i.e. contrasts between the imperial eagle used in Germany in the Pussian era and the one used nowadays in the Bundestag designed by Norman Foster) and try to show the influence of design evolution and tendencies apllied to a unique concept, the imperial eagle. In this regard a vector file is by far the best mean to accomplish this task.

Therefore, I leave to your best knowledge your final decision. In any event, I will be happy with whatever your final resolution may be.

Thanks for your help.

Regards.

Dear Mr. Liuzzo,

Once again thanks for your help.

I find your comments very interesting and I think your information can contribute greatly to my work. All the information and material you may furnish to me with will follow your terms and conditions. Where applicable, third party's work or contributions will be mentioned on my work and appropriately footaged. Please have no worries because my study is not a lucrative one. As you may know by experience, this type of research recquire some time to be fully accomplished within a minimum quality level. I expect to have completed the full study in about 10-12 months period. I would like to keep in touch with you during this period to exchange information (if this is not a problem for you). I have no problems sharing my final outcome with you.

You can, please, send the material you feel appropriate to my email: zchiclana@terra.es

My best regards.

Dear Mr. Liuzzo,

While on holidays I saw your mail on the hotel computer browser (thanks for your kindness), but I could not reply to you at that time. I saw the PDF attachment and it looked great. Nevertheless, now that I am back to work, I have not been able to download your email, along with others. I am afraid that, unknowingly, due to an error while browsing my email account at the hotel, some messages must have been accidentally erased and I have no means now to recover them (I am extremely upset with this situation). In this regard, would you be so kind to re-send the PDF file again? I will immediately make acknowledgement of receipt.

Sorry for the inconveniences and thanks in advance, once again, for your help and understanding.

Best regards.

I will send you a new version within the next few days. It would be better if you post your messages on

[edit] Re: Heraldic crowns of the HRE

Hi David, thank you very much for your appreciations about my work. I've also seen your work with the article, it's fantastic! But unfortunately I have not so much time now, so I can't help you. I'm sorry, but if I have a minute I'll try my best with the crowns you have linked to my talk page. Cheers, F l a n k e r (talk) 20:21, 25 February 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Commons:Valued image candidates/Heraldic crowns of France

Hi David, Thank you for nominating that wonderful set of heraldic crowns there for a Valued Image Set. As you can see from the reviews, the users would have preferred SVG version of the images instead. You wrote something about retaining control over the images on the talk page of the nomination. By that do you mean to retain control of the rendering or to retain control of the source material? I feel you were thinking of retaining control with how they are rendered because the SVG renderer has quite some inaccuracies? If my interpretation is correct, I urge you to also upload the SVG version, although they may not render as nicely. The reason is that the svg rendering problems ought to be fixed some day, and then the vector versions are really more valuable as other users can more easily make derivative works thereof. --Slaunger (talk) 20:50, 24 March 2009 (UTC)

I actually closed your nomination today as declined. However, Eusebius has hinted to me that perhaps I could have given you a little more time. I actually agree in that, so if you respond with uploads of the SVGs I am sure we can figure out to reopen it. --Slaunger (talk) 21:43, 25 March 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Latin America Maps

Hi David,

I would like to request your permission to use your Wikipedia images for the maps of Colombia and Latin America as posted on their respective Wikipedia pages for a business publication that will create interest in renewable power projects. You will be credited in the document. Also wondering, do you have a similar map of Guatemala by any chance? The current one simply does not compare to yours. If you do, please let me know.

Mit freundlichen Gruess,

-Sebastian A.

[edit] Deutschlandkarte

Hi David! Ich hab Deine Deutschlandkarte gesehen und würde sie gerne etwas abgewandelt für einen wissenschaftlichen Artikel einsetzen. Wäre das ok? Lg, Eva

Hello David Liuzzo!

Thank you for providing images to Wikimedia Commons. Commons images are used by editors on many projects in many languages. Each image is put into categories. This helps other editors find them. Please add categories to each image you upload.

To add an image to a category, add the following code to the end of the page.

[[Category:Category Name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbit of comets, add the following to the image description page:

[[Category:Astronomy diagrams]]
[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories: Astronomy diagrams, Comets.

For further information on categories read Commons:Categories.

The CommonSense Tool often helps you find the best category for your image.

Here is a gallery of your images. Please check that each image has a category. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the help desk. Thank you.

Hallo David,

ich würde gern ihre Deutschlandkarte in der Darstellung mitten in Europa für einen Vortrag verwenden, welchen ich hier an einer chinesischen Universität halte. Ist das okay?

Danke im Voraus.

Gruß Ralf
