New Orleans[edit]

Hi. Are you still visiting New Orleans? Hope you've enjoyed the city. Thanks for the great pix! Red beans & ricely, Infrogmation (talk) 02:44, 1 July 2011 (UTC)

Categories[edit]

A tip about Commons:Categories: Don't add categories like Category:National Register of Historic Places in Orleans Parish, Louisiana to individual photos like you did to File:ChicletsFactoryFigDanteJan2010.JPG when the photo is already in a category for the building shown along with other photos of it, in this case Category:American Chicle Company Building, New Orleans. Additional categories which would be relevant for ALL photos in the category, (like National Register of Historic Places in Orleans Parish, Louisiana, Brick buildings in New Orleans, etc) go on the category for the historic building. Thanks for your work and your attention. Cheers, Infrogmation (talk) 14:39, 1 July 2011 (UTC)

National Register[edit]

Hey Jeff thanks for the help with adding pictures to the Category: National Register of Historical Places for Arapahoe,County. I need your help maybe you can help I've been wanting to add more photos and today I went to Commandant of Cadets Building, US Air Force Academy in Aurora and it wasn't at the address it is listed at. I searched around and even used Google Earth. if you could help me out that would be great I appreciate all your hard work, thanks for the collaboration.

Hi, Jeff B. Thank you for uploading this photo as File:IMG 8856a.jpg. Unfortunately, the photo itself seems to have gotten lost. Do you still have the original, and if so would you mind reuploading it? See also Commons:Administrators' noticeboard#One_more_botched_move.   — Jeff G. ツ 17:53, 26 April 2012 (UTC)

Yes, I still have my original on my computer at home. I'll upload it again today after work. Thanks, Jeffrey Beall (talk) 17:56, 26 April 2012 (UTC).
Thanks for reuploading with a better name. This file description page has been deleted per Commons:Deletion requests/File:Vail Hotel.jpg.   — Jeff G. ツ 02:51, 27 April 2012 (UTC)

Denver Broncos pictures[edit]

I just saw your account linked to the one I was looking on Flickr and was wondering if you had already uploaded or planned on uploading these:

They are your images, so I can wait if you plan to upload them or have already, but if you don't mind I can upload them under the Flickr license you provided and you can change it later. Regards, — Moe ε 03:50, 29 September 2012 (UTC)

Okay, I'll check before I do upload. I'll post here which ones I do upload as well. — Moe ε 17:58, 29 September 2012 (UTC)
You're right, you already did upload most of them. I just went ahead and did the two Peyton Manning pictures: File:Peyton Manning - Broncos.jpg (cropped to File:Peyton Manning (cropped).jpg) and File:Peyton Manning throwing.jpg. Since you made your recent uploads as cc-by-sa-3.0 I went ahead and presumed this was the license you wanted to use on your images. If you want to change anything on them, feel free, and thanks. — Moe ε 18:31, 29 September 2012 (UTC)

Picture of the Year voting round 1 open[edit]

Dear Wikimedians,

Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the 2012 Picture of the Year competition is now open. We're interested in your opinion as to which images qualify to be the Picture of the Year for 2012. Voting is open to established Wikimedia users who meet the following criteria:

  1. Users must have an account, at any Wikimedia project, which was registered before Tue, 01 Jan 2013 00:00:00 +0000 [UTC].
  2. This user account must have more than 75 edits on any single Wikimedia project before Tue, 01 Jan 2013 00:00:00 +0000 [UTC]. Please check your account eligibility at the POTY 2012 Contest Eligibility tool.
  3. Users must vote with an account meeting the above requirements either on Commons or another SUL-related Wikimedia project (for other Wikimedia projects, the account must be attached to the user's Commons account through SUL).

Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year are all entered in this competition. From professional animal and plant shots to breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historically relevant images, images portraying the world's best architecture, maps, emblems, diagrams created with the most modern technology, and impressive human portraits, Commons features pictures of all flavors.

For your convenience, we have sorted the images into topic categories. Two rounds of voting will be held: In the first round, you can vote for as many images as you like. The first round category winners and the top ten overall will then make it to the final. In the final round, when a limited number of images are left, you must decide on the one image that you want to become the Picture of the Year.

To see the candidate images just go to the POTY 2012 page on Wikimedia Commons

Wikimedia Commons celebrates our featured images of 2012 with this contest. Your votes decide the Picture of the Year, so remember to vote in the first round by January 30, 2013.

Thanks,
the Wikimedia Commons Picture of the Year committee

Thanks for your great photos of historic places. When you took photos in Raton, New Mexico, did you by any chance get one of the old Episcopal church there? Jonathunder (talk) 02:03, 27 July 2013 (UTC)

No, sorry.Jeffrey Beall (talk) 15:01, 29 July 2013 (UTC).

Dallas pictures[edit]

Hello. Would you be able to take more pictures of Dallas? If you are, I'll tell you what specifically. Please reply on my talkpage. Thank you.Zigzig20s (talk) 21:13, 11 November 2013 (UTC)

The next time they play in Denver I'll be happy to shoot them again. It's been difficult photographing visiting teams here in Denver this year because the players all have their heads down, especially in the second half. Jeffrey Beall (talk) 21:32, 11 November 2013 (UTC).
I mean the city?Zigzig20s (talk) 04:31, 12 November 2013 (UTC)
Oh. Jeffrey Beall (talk) 12:35, 12 November 2013 (UTC).
So would you be able to? Or are you based in Denver? There are pictures needed there too that could be useful.Zigzig20s (talk) 14:11, 12 November 2013 (UTC)
I am Denver-based and won't be able to shoot anything in Dallas. Regards, Jeffrey Beall (talk) 15:47, 12 November 2013 (UTC).
Would you be able to take some pictures in Cherry Hills Village, Colorado? If so, I'll look at the map and let you know what would be useful (mostly churches, parks...). Thank you.Zigzig20s (talk) 00:04, 13 November 2013 (UTC)
No, not at this time. Jeffrey Beall (talk) 13:35, 13 November 2013 (UTC).
