Licenses and welcome[edit]

Hi Dinch, welcome to Commons - I fixed all the licenses - you can change them if you want, but it matched basically what you had at English Wikipedia. Thanks, Ruhrfisch 16:31, 24 June 2007 (UTC)

  • Basically I just put license templates on each page - it is not enough just to write GFDL or whatever, they want a template too. Specifically, I just added

== Licensing ==

{{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-2.5|author=I, [[User:Dincher|Dincher]]}}

  • to each. Ruhrfisch 22:50, 26 June 2007 (UTC)

Fairfield Township[edit]

Hi Dinch, The barn picture is up at Image:Fairfield Township Stone Barn.JPG and added to the infobox Ruhrfisch 03:45, 3 October 2007 (UTC)

  • You are very welcome, Ruhrfisch 18:31, 5 October 2007 (UTC)

Image:Map of Tioga County Pennsylvania School Districts.png[edit]

Hi Dinch, yes Wellsboro SD is in both Tioga and Lycoming Counties. There is a PDF map of it here in addition to the census map I used. Ruhrfisch 05:51, 9 January 2008 (UTC)

There are some others like that - I was going to make similar maps for Ohio school districts, but they do not follow township boundaries and are a real mess - too hard to make decent maps. Ruhrfisch 16:54, 13 January 2008 (UTC)
PA school districts underwent a lot of consolidations in the 1960s, so my guess is that northern Lycoming Co schools joined with Wellsboro SD, but for whatever reason some southern Tioga Co schools formed thir own SDs instead. Ruhrfisch 12:09, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

Commons:Deletion guidelines[edit]

I think you just want to add {{bad name}} to the photo in question and give the name of the correct version too. Ruhrfisch 01:50, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

Worlds End[edit]

Thanks - I was also pretty happy with how the pics turned out. I am pretty sure there are more CCC structures there than just the cabins and swimming area. There are three picnic pavilions that look very CCC-built, plus there is the former park office too. The water does seem low for May and it was quite cold! Ruhrfisch 03:43, 26 May 2008 (UTC)

  • Great new picture for the Geobox - I already put it in the article. Thanks, Ruhrfisch 18:32, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

Looks like goldenrod to me too, but I am not a plant expert. Ruhrfisch (talk) 16:52, 19 June 2008 (UTC)

I have a few more pics to upload that he (or others) might have made it into too. Ruhrfisch (talk) 19:27, 6 July 2008 (UTC)
It's hard to be sure, but I think that's a Solidago rugosa. Choess (talk) 19:18, 7 July 2008 (UTC)

As was already indicated, this is a US Census map that has been modified by two users. The original modifier is Derek Ramsey (Ram-Man) which I have now indicated (and listed that version as an other version). Dincher added the color to highlight the township in question. Ruhrfisch (talk) 15:51, 3 July 2008 (UTC)
Glad to help - I am anal enough that I wanted the other version on all of them just in case there were further questions Ruhrfisch (talk) 03:25, 4 July 2008 (UTC)

I fixed File:Map of Cumberland County North Carolina With Municipal and Township Labels.PNG - thanks for the heads up. Like the new fall Lenny pic too, Ruhrfisch (talk) 11:59, 15 February 2009 (UTC)

Nice - you coukd stitch the Hardware store and downtown pics together and make a mini panorama. I also liked the other pics - I hate to ask, but waht happened to Schatzie? Ruhrfisch (talk) 02:21, 18 February 2009 (UTC)
Oh, I am so sorry about Schatzie. How sad. I can stitch the two photos if you want me to. Ruhrfisch (talk) 04:47, 19 February 2009 (UTC)

Fawning comment ;-)[edit]

I cleaned it up a little - it copied an earlier version of what I had which had too many licenses in it, take care, Ruhrfisch (talk) 02:31, 12 May 2009 (UTC)

I am always for adding Nicholas T pix to a category - I was focusing on the hang gliding pix before. Will upload them, unless you want to. Ruhrfisch (talk) 16:49, 30 May 2009 (UTC)
I uploaded Nicholas T's Hyner View two. Also uploaded several new Worlds End pics. Ruhrfisch (talk) 04:06, 31 May 2009 (UTC)

Ricketts Glen[edit]

Thanks - I added the gallery tool to my user page here. I took the cabin pic at the end of a hike and it was much easier to take the picture through the trees than walk a fair ways around to get a clearer view. Ruhrfisch (talk) 03:04, 20 October 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for finding those! The dry lake has to be Lake Leigh, so I added that to the file description. I am pretty sure the swampy area is on / near Kitchen Creek at the top of Glen Leigh, between the Lake Leigh dam and Onondaga Falls. Glad you like the QI pictures. This media may be deleted.
Thanks for uploading File:New Buffalo Keystone Sign.JPG. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.

If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-all}} to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.)

If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the OTRS system and follow the procedure described there.

Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for speedy deletion. If you have uploaded other files, please confirm that you have provided the proper information for those files, too. (You can get a list of all your uploaded files using the Gallery tool.) Thank you.

Photographs by Gerry Dincher[edit]

I've recently uploaded a number of images from Gerry Dincher at flickr, and I was placing them in Category:Photographs by Gerry Dincher. In searching for more to populate, I came across your username. So, out of courtesy, I wanted to let you know, in case you wanted to place your commons/en.wiki username there. Or, if you wanted to add that category to some images that you uploaded already. If that's OK, I can do that too. Or, if you didn't want to draw any connection between your accounts here and flickr, I can drop the whole thing and you can delete this section, as it if never happened.--GrapedApe (talk) 04:25, 4 October 2013 (UTC)

Notification about possible deletion[edit]

Commons-emblem-issue.svg Some contents have been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether they should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at their entry.

If you created these pages, please note that the fact that they have been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with them, such as a copyright issue.
Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!
