welcome to wmc[edit]

hey Evelyn, it's me; & this is your talk page.

you can edit pretty much any page by clicking the edit tab in the row at the top of the page, but i'd advise using it with extreme caution; especially while you're learning how.

This is a good page to practice on:

http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Sandbox

editing is done in the box where you can change the taxt.

the preview button shows you the changes,

the save button makes a part of the permanent page (which can then be changed again, in the same way); people doing this collectively makes it a "wiki"

on a talkpage you can add a comment by clicking the "+comment" tabs, which lets u start a new section of conversation, rather than editing the whole page

if you want to indent, start the line of text like so:  :colon, then text

colon, then text
if you just leave a space, you get this

lots more to learn, but most of it you can find out playing in the sandbox & i'll add tips, as needed.

this link is for uploading, it takes you through the process step-by-step, bit tedious, but not hard to follow:

Commons:Upload

last thing, you can sign your comments by putting four of these together (touching) in a row: ~

as per our conversations on sunday[edit]

the 42 puzzle:

& "leaning":

http://ru.wiktionary.org/wiki/%D0%BF%D1%80%D0%B8%D0%B2%D0%B0%D0%BB%D0%B8%D1%82%D1%8C%D1%81%D1%8F

a rough pronunciation of the word "привалиться" is "pree-vah-leet-syah"

& the caption roughly translates as "leaning against the car"
