[edit] Zamia...
Hi! Are you sure that these images: Image:Zamia pumila 001.jpg and Image:Zamia pumila 001.jpg refer to Zamia pumila ? They seems to me more probably pictures of Zamia furfuracea ... --Esculapio 01:32, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
- Hello,
- Thank for your message,
- I know this name by the label in front the plant. I am not sure if the name is good. Sorry.--Valérie75 15:51, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:Corallium rubrum.jpg. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikimedia Commons (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page. If the content is a derivative of a copyrighted work, you need to supply the names and a licence of the original authors as well.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag, then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use cc-by-sa-2.5 to release it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license or PD-self to release it into the public domain. See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find all your uploads using the Gallery tool. Thank you.
I have checked the it.wikipedia.org page, which refers to [1], which does not seem to have any licensing information (except a copyright notice in the HTML).Eloquence 05:28, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
- As far as I can tell, the "GPL" refers to the license of the gallery software and has nothing to do with the pictures.--Eloquence 05:02, 10 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Orchidaceae
Hello, Esculapio, congratulations on your fantastic plant photos, especially the orchids of Italy!! Greetings. Orchi 21:56, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
- Ciao, Esculapio, thanks for your message. May I ask 2 questions to you:
- Your excellent pictures of Orchis papilionacea Image:Orchis papilionacea zingaro 106.jpg and Image:Orchis papilionacea zingaro 107.jpg, I think, should be turned by 90°.
- This Ophrys Image:OphrysSconosciutaFiore.jpeg since a long time is unclassified. A user put the image to Ophrys holoserica. I have not this opinion. I think, it could be a hybrid with Ophrys candica, but I don't no. Can you help? Greetings Orchi 23:33, 28 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Please tag your images
Česky | Deutsch | Ελληνικά | English | Español | Suomi | Français | עברית | Magyar | Italiano | 日本語 | Nederlands | Polski | Português | Русский | +/−
Thank you for providing images to the Commons. Please keep in mind that images and other files on the Commons must be under a free license and should be useful to the Wikimedia projects. To allow others to use your files, some additional information must be given on the description page. Most importantly:
- Describe what it is about in a short sentence. (What does the image show?)
- State the author and the date of creation. If you made it yourself, say so explicitly. If it is from another Wikipedia user, link to the person's local user page. Best use CommonsHelper
- If you did not create the file yourself, state the source you got it from.
- Add a copyright tag - images without an appropriate license tag will be deleted.
- Add the image to one or more gallery pages and/or appropriate categories, so it can be found by others. To find out where an image belongs, you can use CommonsSense.
If you copied the file from another wiki, please copy all information given there and say who uploaded it to that wiki. Use CommonsHelper.
It is recommended to use Template:Information to put that information on the description page. Have a look at Template talk:Information for details of the use of this template.
Please add as much information as possible. If there is not sufficient information, the file may have to be deleted. For more information, follow the Commons:First steps guide. If you need help or have questions, please ask at the Help desk.
Thank you. Yuval Y § Chat § 22:28, 23 October 2007 (UTC)
- Hi Esculapio. I guess the problem is with the latest images you uploaded here (diademed sifakas). You forgot to put them in categories. Done now (Category:Propithecus diadema). Another problem: do not use PD as it is not precise enough. In this case, I chose PD-author (see changes) and mentionned original uploader at English Wikipedia. Regards. — Xavier, 22:52, 24 October 2007 (UTC)

Hi - these picturese you uploaded are very good and much appreciated but they are not a Washingtonia. This is, as far as I can tell, Livistona chinensis. You should consider moving them or re-categorizing them or changing the name. ThanksMmcknight4 01:51, 18 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Orchids wiki images
Sorry about no tags on your creative commons images. Back then it was kind of disorganized and it was difficult to track pics. But I am tagging everything since 2008. So if you find anymore of those old images feel free to tag them. There are too many images in the database for me to track. But if I come across one now it will be tagged. Thanks for tagging them! --Cs california (talk) 11:00, 4 May 2009 (UTC)

Hello Esculapio!
Thank you for providing images to Wikimedia Commons. Commons images are used by editors on many projects in many languages. Each image is put into categories. This helps other editors find them. Please add categories to each image you upload.
To add an image to a category, add the following code to the end of the page.
-
For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbit of comets, add the following to the image description page:
-
-
This will make the diagram show up in the categories: Astronomy diagrams, Comets.
For further information on categories read Commons:Categories.
The CommonSense Tool often helps you find the best category for your image.
Here is a gallery of your images. Please check that each image has a category. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the help desk. Thank you.
