[edit] Image:Minuteman III MIRV path.svg

Compared with your stated source http://www.nukestrat.com/us/afn/Minuteman.pdf you moved the deployment of chaff to after mid-phase. Do you have a reference for that? It does not seem to make sense.--Patrick (talk) 00:15, 3 July 2008 (UTC)

I based that image on page 14 of the PDF (page 10 by its internal numbering)—I don't have the chaff being deployed any earlier than it does. I don't presume to be an expert on this stuff. --Fastfission (talk) 22:16, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
Since the mid-phase is drawn only small in the diagrams, there seems little difference, but the PDF shows chaff being deployed at least before halfway, while your diagram shows it after halfway, and it could even be interpreted as being at the end of the mid-phase.--Patrick (talk) 22:49, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

[edit] File:Plutonium pellet.jpg

The file number you provided does not bring up any results; at least some meta-data should be brought up, no? What lab is responsible for creating this image? When was it created? Under what license? Knowing at least what lab created the image will tell us if it is actually PD or at all free use; being created under a DOE-funded contract and posted to one of their websites is not sufficient. Alternatively, you can provide the email correspondence you mention on the file talk page. --Mav (talk) 18:58, 11 January 2009 (UTC)

Thank you for providing the info needed to find meta data on the image on the source website. That image description page now has all the info that was previously lacking. --Mav (talk) 02:49, 19 January 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Question

I was wondering if you could tell me how to get that grey-white checkerboard behind images so that the white backround doesn't show up on the image. Ktr101 (talk) 16:30, 13 May 2009 (UTC)

Hello Fastfission!

Thank you for providing images to Wikimedia Commons. Commons images are used by editors on many projects in many languages. Each image is put into categories. This helps other editors find them. Please add categories to each image you upload.

To add an image to a category, add the following code to the end of the page.

[[Category:Category Name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbit of comets, add the following to the image description page:

[[Category:Astronomy diagrams]]
[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories: Astronomy diagrams, Comets.

For further information on categories read Commons:Categories.

The CommonSense Tool often helps you find the best category for your image.

Here is a gallery of your images. Please check that each image has a category. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the help desk. Thank you.
