Hi Filnik, Nikbot sent me a message about licences. It suggests me to use a free licence, and I think the one I've chosen it's correct: Template:-PD-Italy-, which is for non-artistic Italian photos, and these kind of coins are not artistic, so which is the problem? I've edited again, and I've chosen Template:-Money-EU- tag: "its use is permitted by ECB, "as long as reproductions in advertising or illustrations cannot be mistaken for genuine banknotes"[1] and [for coins] "for photographs, drawings, paintings [...] etc." Do you agree? --Manu (talk) 16:39, 15 September 2009 (UTC)

There seems to be a problem regarding the description and/or licensing of this particular file. It has been found that you've added in the image's description only a Template that's not a license and although it provides useful informations about the image, it's not a valid license. Could you please resolve this problem, adding the license in the image linked above? You can edit the description page and change the text. Uploading a new version of the file does not change the description of the file. This page may give you more hints on which license to choose. Thank you.

Hi! Nikbot keeps telling my bot about deprecated license tags. As I am usually not the one uploading thorugh it, and I usually don't check that page, there is little point in that. Better to inform the "transferer" or, better, the uploader in the original wiki - all information is on the image description pages. Also, Nikbot tags files like this, which have both {{PD}} and {{PD-old}}, as not having sufficient license information. That is wrong - they do have PD-old, they just have a superfluous PD template as well. Removing the latter when the former is present would be much more helpful than the current behaviour. Something may be going wrong about nikbot.

These two files were correctly marked by the bot as without licence and deleted lateron. The date of marking can be seen. The only thing I'm missig is a notification about that process. When you look at the history of my discussion page http://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:Joergens.mi&action=history there is no notification. The last notification by nikbot is from 2009-10-09 20:21:34. I got the information about the deletion by commonsdelinker, who removed the reference to the file from german WP.

can you fix it?.

Hi. I've just received a message from your bot regarding File:Moon.Archimedes.jpg, a file I transferred from en.wp last night, saying that it "has a deprecated license tag" and that it will be deleted unless a new license is chosen. What exactly is wrong with the current license on the page? Why has the license tag been deprecated? Why am I being (indirectly) linked to a page that given me copyright information for every single possible country? The problems are: 1) it's not my image so I can't relicense it, 2) I have yet to see anything that actually says that the license is deprecated, or why. Mike Peel (talk) 13:29, 29 November 2009 (UTC)

- I still don't understand: why is the license of this image a problem? I now see that template page says that it has been deprecated (but for some reason this isn't displayed on the actual template). However, these is no information on why, or discussion about it, that I can see. I also note that a number of images use this template, apparently without a problem.
- I am very worried by your bot message, which does not provide any useful information. Please could you fix it so that it gives more information in this specific case (and any other cases where it provides a similar lack of information)? I've been around Commons for over 3 years, and I can't understand this problem; a newbie stands absolutely no chance. If you don't understand why this is important, read the recent news coverage about Wikipedia...
