[edit] Bug?

[1] - why is the bot tagging it when there is on it? —Ed 17 (Talk) 00:33, 20 April 2009 (UTC)

This is not a bug, it just doesn't recognize that license. This is a real issue; what it should do is replace the flickrreview template with if it finds a no known copyright restrictions image. --Yarnalgo (talk) 02:47, 1 July 2009 (UTC)

Hello FlickreviewR!

Thank you for providing images to Wikimedia Commons. Commons images are used by editors on many projects in many languages. Each image is put into categories. This helps other editors find them. Please add categories to each image you upload.

To add an image to a category, add the following code to the end of the page.

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbit of comets, add the following to the image description page:

This will make the diagram show up in the categories: Astronomy diagrams, Comets.

For further information on categories read Commons:Categories.

The CommonSense Tool often helps you find the best category for your image.

Here is a gallery of your images. Please check that each image has a category. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the help desk. Thank you.

[edit] Many Pictures are not from Flickr

There are many picture which have nothing to do with flickr: fore example File:Anhso.net_2020_19420092298999_l.jpg or often OpenStreetmaps like File:Washington_Park_map.png in most pictures in the group: Category:Unsourced_Flickr_images_reviewed_by_FlickreviewR is nowhere the word flickr.

Why was in this pictures the tag flickrreview? In the history of these files I don't find anything why and how this tag came into these files. There is allway the edit from flickrreview to User:FlickreviewR/reviewed-nosource by User:FlickreviewR Can somebody explaine this? Thanks for your help. HBR (talk) 22:11, 21 April 2009 (UTC)

[edit] image re-review

Greetings. i fixed the licence on this image: File:Emma Watson, Press Conference, June 2007.jpg and i wanted to ask you to review it again please. cheers.--Lykantrop (talk) 21:20, 25 April 2009 (UTC)

[edit] FlickrLickr

Please see Commons:Village pump#FlickrLickr, where I have asked about the bot adding images uploaded by FlickLickr to Category:Possibly unfree Flickr images reviewed by FlickreviewR. I wonder if FlickreviewR's code needs to be changed so it doesn't tag FlickLickr's uploads? WJBscribe (talk) 21:26, 10 May 2009 (UTC)

[edit] PD-USGov and PD-USGov-POTUS templates

Recently the Official White House photostream on Flickr changed its license from CC-by to United States Government Work. FlickReviewR does not recognize that license, despite it is equivalent to PD-USGov or PD-USGov-POTUS. Lobo Huella lobo.svg (howl?) 19:37, 20 May 2009 (UTC) P.D:Sorry for my English

One month later, same problem. --Dereckson (talk) 02:01, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
Just a piece of advice: If uploading from the White House's photostream just do not put a flickrreview template on the page. The point of the Flickr review system is that Flickr users can change licenses with no history of previous licenses so it is to confirm that it was under a free license in case they change in the future. This does not apply to this special case where they will not change so you can just not put a flickrreview template. --Yarnalgo (talk) 16:00, 29 June 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Pictures from Flickr now have acceptable license

The following images were marked as non-free images recently by your bot, but I recently got the author of them at flickr (i.e. drs2biz) to place them under a free Share Alike license. I would like you to now fix them, please.

Thank you.--PericlesofAthens (talk) 09:45, 28 June 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Note from Bryan on his talk page

From the top of User_talk:Bryan is this:

I am no longer part of the active Commons community and do not intend to become so in the foreseeable future. I won't check this page regularly, so in case you need me, send an mail. -- Bryan (talk to me) 21:36, 11 July 2009 (UTC)

You wrote, the pictures has been reviewed on 12:15, 3 August 2009 (UTC) by FlickreviewR, who could not determine what the source image from Flickr was. That is not possible.

[edit] File:Acis ionica flower.jpg

Dears,

I am a little bit amazed by the following.

This image recently uploaded image was originally posted to Flickr by od0man at http://flickr.com/photos/15121707@N00/3373053934. It has been reviewed on 12:16, 28 September 2009 (UTC) by FlickreviewR, who found it to be licensed under the terms of the All Rights Reserved, which isn't compatible with the Commons. It is unknown whether the license above was ever valid. If this image was recently uploaded, it may be speedy deleted.

It's the first time I am uploading a picture someone else has put on Flickr. I have the written agreement of od0man to put it on wikemedia. I have apparently chosen a wrong licence. Please let me know which licence should be used to make it acceptable for Commons.

Best regards, --Réginald (To reply) 12:30, 28 September 2009 (UTC)

I have originally found this nice picture on Flickr. I have contacted the author od0man -alias Steve Covey- asking him whethter he allowed me to upload it to Commons. See hereafter the written authorization he has sent to me toghether with the picture in original size.
Dear Réginald,
attached is the original image. [I also have just taken some shots of Cyclamen rohlfsianum that I grew from seed in 1995 and has only just flowered for the first time this year!!]
I hereby give my permission for Réginald Hulhoven (alias Meneerke bloem on Wikipedia) to upload the attached image on my behalf.
Best Wishes,
Steve Covey. [VC7/8]

I infer from his message that there is no copyright on the file I have uploaded on Commons.

[edit] File:TVR 3000 1978.jpg

This bot has set a notice stating that it could not determine what the source image from Flickr was. I have meanwhile entered the source link here. I hope that is sufficient.

[edit] File:MiniMundo.jpg File:Chico_Buarque.jpg

Hi, the flicker user just change the licence of those photos File:MiniMundo.jpg File:Chico_Buarque.jpg. Now is not a free licence photo. What to do? Mvdiogo (talk) 19:43, 15 October 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Don't you check for Commons:Questionable Flickr images?

Hi FlickreviewR, when reviewing a Flickr-source image/upload, don't you check for the acount name on Commons:Questionable Flickr images? Otherwise, you might have noted that File:24-Season-7-Promotional-Photos.jpg comes from an account that is already listed on QFI. --Túrelio (talk) 20:07, 16 October 2009 (UTC)

[edit] File:Lion and Sun Emblem.jpg

Please delete this image. I misread its license on Flicker. It is clearly a copy-right picture--WIMYV (talk) 18:02, 18 October 2009 (UTC)
