OK, however it's very simple: Yan Mateyko :-) Pibwl 14:12, 27 February 2007 (UTC)
Here you are

- That was fast! Thank you. grendel|khan 08:10, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

- Excuse a delay in further request (I've noticed, that you've already did it). To be frank, I don't know, what is the difference between English Simeon and Simon, so I can't tell - but there is only one Polish name "Szymon", so it might tbe both. ..Or wait: I've looked at pl:Symeon: "Symeon (...) More popular curently is its modified form Szymon". So Szymon would be Simon, and Symeon (rarely used) - Simeon. Pibwl 22:54, 14 March 2007 (UTC)
RE: Image:Barrios de Alicante - (Blanco).png and Image:Barrios de Alicante - Color.PNG [edit]
Hi Grendelkhan! I didn't manage very well with SVG, but I'll try to convert all the maps. I want to check if it's easier to generate the derived maps 'cos Paint's quite disgusting... ;-) Thank you very much for your advice. Regards from Spain. --Kokoo 15:23, 13 March 2007 (UTC)

Hey Grendelkhan! I've got a question to the image above: You've written in the comments that the screenshot shows OS X Widgets. Now it is Windows with the Flyakite (Mac) theme – does that matter? (I don't know much about copyright things for screenshots, I only wonder) – bye, – Simon / ?! 17:54, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
- There's a discussion on the Village Pump about this. It's very tricky to get a truly unencumbered screenshot out of MS Windows, as the icons and such are copyrighted. I think ReactOS will, if it's ever stable, help with this, but until then I think screenshots of Windows software that show the UI need to live on their local Wikipedias. grendel|khan 19:10, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
QIC [edit]
Hey Grendelkhan, I noticed you were eager to close nominations on QIC :-). May I suggest that you concentrate your work on the Consensual Review section, and Commons:Quality_Images/Recently_promoted (I see you've been active there as well). The other closings are handled automatically by User:QICbot. --Dschwen 13:43, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
- Ah, so they are. Good to know! grendel|khan 13:51, 27 March 2007 (UTC)

If you want to try to remove the moire effect, you have to scan it with much more resolution, the maximum that is allowed by your scanner. Make different attempts, trying to rotate it using small angles and inverting it with Gimp or Photoshop, then post your results and I might try to improve it. Don't expect great results, though. Alessio Damato 07:23, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
- Alas, it's not my scan; I'm not affiliated with the folks at the Art Renewal Center, and I don't have access to the book they scanned it from. If it can't be fixed from what's been uploaded already, I guess it can't be fixed. grendel|khan 15:56, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
Hello Grendelkhan, thanks for uploading this beautiful painting! regards, Mantlewood

"...no pages that link to this file" [edit]
Hi, Grendelkhan. Have pity on a newbie please and tell me why Image:Glenn_Alan_Fine.jpg says at the bottom of the page that it's not linked to anything, when in fact it illustrates his Wikipedia entry. I'm also having a rotten time categorizing things. I only found the DOJ tag by looking at John Ashcroft. Later, I uploaded someone from NIH and I don't know where to find a list of agency-specific tags. I'm having a very hard time getting around in the Commons, though I've gotten pretty agile over Wikipedia. -- Lisasmall 04:38, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
- It says that it's not linked to anything because it's not linked to anything... on Commons. To see where this image is used on the various wikis that pull media from Commons, click the "check usage" tab at the top of the page (to the right of "file", "discussion", "edit", "history" and "watch"). (The link goes here, if you're having trouble finding it--but note that some of the databases are way out of date!)
- As for agency-specific tags, check in USGov PD license tags; there are eighty in there at the moment. Try and use the most specific one that you can find. (Though note that, for instance, Template:PD-USGov-DOS and Template:PD-USGov-State are redundant. Aargh.) grendel|khan 19:36, 20 September 2007 (UTC)

File:Bernard Sumner.jpg [edit]
| File:Bernard Sumner.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry. If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. To make future contests even more successful than this year, we would like to invite you to share your experiences with us in a short survey.
