Thanks for uploading Image:Vivekananda.png. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikimedia Commons (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page. If the content is a derivative of a copyrighted work, you need to supply the names and a licence of the original authors as well.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag, then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{self|cc-by-sa-2.5}} to release it under the Creative Commons or {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find all your uploads using the Gallery tool. Thank you. [edit] Cleaning up noise

About pictures Image:IMG 0487 - a tree at night, experiment.jpg and Image:IMG 0492 - a tree at night, experiment.jpg, what's to be cleaned up? they are just dark pictures. If you want to improve it, you could improve brightness, but you don't need Fourier analysis to do it! I tried to do it, but the dark parts are too dark to recover some data. I couldn't get something better. Alessio Damato 10:59, 24 November 2006 (UTC)

OK, Hermann und Dorothea done. tsca @ 01:12, 26 November 2006 (UTC)

I'm deleting 100.png - 300.png, however, you have to reupload them yourself (but do it with the right description!) tsca @ 11:29, 26 November 2006 (UTC)

Well, integrate your template into {Information}. Your template does not need to replicate it. Alternatively, do not use any extra template at all and just put all the info into {Information}. Or use some other upload software (upload.pl by Erik Möller is quite handy, link somewhere here on Commons). tsca @ 13:26, 26 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image:GuyaneFlag.jpg

Hello, I'm writing to ask about Image:GuyaneFlag.jpg. It was deleted because unknown source, but there is some source here: Special:Log/Image:GuyaneFlag.jpg. How was that? ~~helix84 15:42, 29 November 2006 (UTC)

Cited source and the material are not remotely similar. The flag on the linked site is more like the french flag ([1]). The flag that was uploaded looked nothing like it. In fact it did not look like a flag at all. --Cat out 16:43, 29 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] pomoc

A guy on french wikipedia uploaded this picture to illustrate the article on vodnik but we have a copyvio problem on it, would you be so kind, since you've done pictures of Trenčín, to shoot a close up of the same guy. Your pictures are wonderful but a bit too far away to illustrate correctly what is a vodník. thx! --Diligent 20:24, 29 November 2006 (UTC)

Sure I will, but it will may take some time, because the water is shut off during winter. Also, there used to be an artificial ice-skating arena right next to it each winter. Therefore it may be a few months before I do. ~~helix84 23:02, 29 November 2006 (UTC)

fr:Vodnik

Thx! Oh! By the way... i think i found a solution and cropped your image to make it as if the vodník is threatening to take away the little kid or spit on him ;-) Diligent

[edit] Book images

Hello Helix84. I noticed that you've uploaded several sets of images of books. I was wondering what process you used to obtain the images. I was considering photographing several pages of some 1894 edition Charles Dickens books and I was wondering if you had any advice. Thanks! ~MDD4696 20:11, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Trotzki (Gemälde).jpg

Image deletion warning Image:Trotzki (Gemälde).jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this image, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. If the file is up for deletion because it has been superseded by a superior derivative of your work, consider the notion that although the file may be deleted, your hard work (which we all greatly appreciate) lives on in the new file.
In all cases, please do not take the deletion request personally. It is never intended as such. Thank you!

Hello Helix84, by accident you overwrote the english description of the picture of the day 2007-03-12 with another language. Unfortunatelly i dont with which language you have overwritten the english text so i couldnt place it right. I have undone your edit. Maybe you can place it at the right language :-)

Do you ever read WHAT you're "superseeding"? Foo 1.jpg was meant to be used for instruction as a typical "_do_NOT_do_this_" (= do not over-compress JPG files). By "superseeding" it with a cleaned-up version (which anyone could have produced from any earlier version of that pic), it becomes just "anything", and of no use. any IP 17:26, 1 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Symbolicky cintorin

Hi, I put redirects on pages like Symbolicky cintorin as I do not view them as misspellings, but as "spellings for people that do not know how to do special characters on their keyboard" - when you search, it will find the category/page and redirect you.

Also, pages can exist alongside categories, and are not the same, so I do not know if the duplicate template you put on the page (saying it is a duplicate of a category) is correct. I will leave it up to you.

Thanks for your help and kind regards, Deadstar (msg) 10:15, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

I changed them back meanwhile. The fact is - it is not correct spelling. Google search for "Symbolicky cintorin" will find the correct cat (after it has been indexed), but that's merely extra help. I know native search doesn't do it, which it might. Making redirects from all (incorrect) "alternative" spellings would really make a terrible mess, sorry. Thanks for trying to help, anyway. ~~helix84 10:23, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:Dwik.png.

If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-all}} to release it under the multilicense GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain.

Thank you. [edit] Image:Broccoli_DSCN4323.jpg

Image deletion warning Image:Broccoli_DSCN4323.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not.

Thank you!
