Hello, and thank your for sharing your files with Commons. There seems to be a problem regarding the description and/or licensing of this particular file. Please remember that all uploads require source, author and license information. Could you please resolve these problems, which are described on the page linked in above? You can edit the description page and change the text. Uploading a new version of the file does not change the description of the file. This page may give you more hints on which information may be missing. Thank you.

Jerry Avenaim[edit]

Would it be possible for you in some way to confirm your identity is Jerry Avenaim. As I'm sure you can appreciate, Wikimedia Commons takes copyright very seriously and so it would be helpful if we could be sure that you are the photographer Jerry Avenaim. The photographer has a website at http://www.avenaim.com/ and I could send an email asking for confirmation there which would quickly decide this issue. So, perhaps you might wish to tell me before I do, are you really this photographer and if not do you have their permission to upload their images? Adambro 23:24, 15 January 2008 (UTC)

Adambro[edit]

Feel free to email me from either of my web sites avenaim.com or jerryavenaim.com you will be sent an automated spam protection message the first time you email me. Once you authenticate yourself (you need do so only once), I will receive the message and reply. Jerry Avenaim 04:24, 16 January 2008 (UTC)

Email sent, not had a spam protection message back yet though. Adambro 21:26, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
Ahh, now I do. Adambro 21:32, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
Could you please add a license tag to Image:Phil 1.jpg and Image:Pma-snap.jpg as you have done with your other images. Cheers. Adambro 22:35, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
I don't know how, I thought I did, same for Image:Antonio Sabato.jpg (that was removed from his page)... Help? Jerry Avenaim
Okay, I think I got it! But what about placing the images on the respective pages? Jerry Avenaim

Pardon the repetition... Do you think I'm going to let anyone use the images I've spent my life creating, just so anyone can use them at will? That makes no sense, I'm trying to contribute to the Wiki community where images are controlled. If my watermark doesn't splatter the image what would prevent another party from using the image? For instance, it is at a resolution good enough for a cell phone company to use it for wallpaper on a phone. What would prevent that? Help me to understand my images are still protected. Because if they're not, delete away. Jerry Avenaim 02:03, 19 January 2008 (UTC)
Take further discussion of this to this deletion request. Cheers. :) Lewis Collard! (talk, contribs, en.wp) 03:01, 19 January 2008 (UTC)

Deeee-livered[edit]

The deletion is all taken care of. I am (and everyone else following this is) very glad that you didn't go for the scorched earth option there; Commons really, really needs pros like you here. Also, I'm sorry if my tone in the deletion discussion was over-strident to start with. And, welcome aboard. :) Lewis Collard! (talk, contribs, en.wp) 18:46, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

Oh and also, if you have any more questions about using Commons or anything else, I'm on the site a lot (rather too much, really), so don't hesitate to stop by my talk page with any queries. :) Lewis Collard! (talk, contribs, en.wp) 18:50, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

ALSO, sorry about forgetting to de-tag Image:Luke Wilson.jpg. My bad. :) Lewis Collard! (hai thar, wut u doin) 20:32, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

Featured images[edit]

Hi, I'm sorry I didn't notify you when I nominated you Mark Harmon photo for Featured Image quality. Anyway, congratulations, on it being a Featured image. I saw that you have uploaded multiple images on to commons wich are of FI quality, with only the size being to small. If you want those to be FI's, maybe you should consider uploading some of those in a bigger size. Again, sorry and congratulations. Music2611 (talk) 13:37, 14 August 2008 (UTC)

New categories created[edit]

See Category:Jerry Avenaim and Category:Pictures by Jerry Avenaim. Feel free to place any new pictures by yourself that you add to this project in the 2nd category (and pictures of yourself in the first). Thank you for your contributions to Wikimedia Commons and your striking photography work, Cirt (talk) 06:44, 18 February 2009 (UTC)

Cheers[edit]

Just wanted to say it's a great thing that you're doing, sharing these images in this way. Far too many Wiki articles have truly sub-par photos of the people the article is about, simply because professional photographers and others who own copyright on the really good images don't want to share them in this way. (And, don't get me wrong, I completely understand why anyone would be reluctant to just put out their commercial work in a Creative Commons sort of way...) ... To be able to have Amber Tamblyn's article, for example, feature such a gorgeous image as this one, rather than having to rely on something that some random fan snapped with a point-and-shoot, like, just for example, something like this, is really wonderful. I am myself a total nobody, so I cannot say thank you on behalf of the Wiki or anything like that, but on behalf of myself, thank you very much. I hope that others follow in your footsteps.
