Maps[edit]

In the Perkins book, there are two maps. (1,2) Are they of use? Upload them? If so, please create an image description page for them and I will upload like the rest. – JBarta (talk) 18:07, 23 August 2013 (UTC)

William C. Parke signature[edit]

Hi KAVEBEAR,

I vectorized the signature you requested at Commons:Graphic Lab/Illustration workshop#William C. Parke signature. Is everything all right and can we consider the request as resolved?

Not sure if GL is on your watchlist. Just letting you know that there was a reply. --McZusatz (talk) 18:00, 10 December 2013 (UTC)

Could you please check it? Thanks in advance.--Carnby (talk) 22:07, 11 March 2014 (UTC)

Honolulu Rifles in full regalia[edit]

I have been asked to re-write the article on Wikipedia. In doing my initial research I discovered that there were actually two separate organizations of the same name. The first was disbanded after Lunalilo died and Kalakaua was elected. In 1886, a new volunteer group of all haoles was formed with approval from the king and the cabinet, 12 years after the disbanding of the first group. They are not related other than being a volunteer militia group. For this reason I have removed some text from your image, but my guess is (and it is a guess going by the look of the age of the image) that this was the original Honolulu Rifles. Do you know the date the images was taken?--Amadscientist (talk) 10:37, 27 May 2014 (UTC)

Doesn't say. But the uniforms resembles en:Volney V. Ashford who was only active in the 1880s and Kalakaua's reign was known for pomp so Honolulu Riflesmen in Lunalilo's reign would have been less showy. Check with the Hawaii States Archives, although from experience they are under staffed and don't do research for people nor do they put detail label on their online collections.--KAVEBEAR (talk) 10:49, 27 May 2014 (UTC)
Actually that is a good point. I have left the image on the article because I couldn't be sure what date this was from and i do intend to have some small mention of the earlier Rifles, but I haven't had time yet to do much looking past the Barracks Mutiny.--Amadscientist (talk) 20:45, 27 May 2014 (UTC)

Abigail Kawananakoa[edit]

The painting was on loan to the Honolulu Museum of Art, and is in a private collection in Italy. I have the book Kaumualii, Duccio & Marzia Ratti, 'Matteo Sandonà and Hawaiʻi: A Capital Ambition', Honolulu, Honolulu Academy of Arts, 2007, and would be glad to send you a scan from the book if you send me your e-mail address. Re: File:Kamehameha II.jpg[edit]

I am deleting versions that are duplicates. There is also another image there as previous version which does not seem to be a duplicate of anything on commons. Ankry (talk) 19:55, 16 June 2014 (UTC)

And do not set fake reason for file deletion. It does not work. Ankry (talk) 20:03, 16 June 2014 (UTC)
This is not duplicate, and as I noted above and @Túrelio earlier, I see no reason to delete one of them. Its quality is not so bad to delete it. Why do you want so much this one to be deleted? Ankry (talk) 00:28, 17 June 2014 (UTC)
I just thought it was poor reproduction.--KAVEBEAR (talk) 03:13, 17 June 2014 (UTC)
