[edit] Map Reaquest : East Asia
Hello Ksiom, I'm a French user interested by East asian ancient history such as : Tang history, Goguryeo history, en:Rouran, en:Khitans, en:Liao dynasty, etc. I was looking for a map for all east asia (China, Mongolia, Korea, Japan, Taiwan, North vietnam) and noticed the almost perfect East asian map "Image:China_topo.png", which -sadly- is not an empty map. I then noticed your Image:Korea_topographic_map.png today.
I'm a beginner in computer drawing (see my work), so I come to ask if you may create a new empty version of the China_topo.png's area, but with your style Korea_topographic_map.png style. I you may provide to me such background, I may do the rest of the job to provide more historical maps for East asia.

BIG THANKS !! Many thanks for your work, which really astonished me ! this is great. Sincerely.
I also want to ask you some points :
- is it hard to learn how to use GMT to do such maps ? how much time that need ?
- how many time did you spend to draw this map ? (1 hours? 3 hours? 6 hours? )
Do you still have the xcf source file ? (for some cases, I may need to delete the 2008 borders).
Again: many thanks, your map really encourage me in my project. ;] Yug (talk) 19:56, 18 August 2008 (UTC)

- Nice map indeed, but could you add an altitude scale somewhere, if that's not too hard to? --<unknow user>
[edit] More ? (Taiwan)
Hello again,
I come back for a new request [sorry]. Can you make a topographic map of Taiwan ? with the following coordinates :
* Equirectangular projection, N/S stretching 110 %. Geographic limits of the map: * N: 26.4° N * S: 21.7° N * W: 118.0° E * E: 122.3° E with an altitude scale in the sea and without district borders. with the name Image:Taiwan_relief_location_map.jpg
This will complete the current : Image:Taiwan location map.svg made by NNW. Idem, I will later use it to provide further explicative maps.

For my promised maps of China, you can take a look at my draft gallery. I lost my SVG file 2 weeks ago which make me lost lot of time. But I'm still slowly drawing my maps. 881 Yug (talk) 19:13, 18 September 2008 (UTC)
- I'm sorry i'm busy these days. Maybe I'll make this sometime or other (next week?). By the way, could you change the name of 'Sea of Japan' to 'East Sea' or 'East Sea (Sea of Japan)'? --KSiOM(Talk) 17:10, 21 September 2008 (UTC)

[edit] your map
Hi. I'd like to use your map of administrative divisions of S. Korea for Citizendium, but I need your real name. Could you e-mail me at citizen7774 et yo hoo ?d come? Thx. (Chunbum Park (talk) 00:01, 11 November 2008 (UTC))
- Thank you for using my map. Because I released it into the public domain, you can use it without any conditions, even if you don't mention my name. Besides, I don't want to let others know my real name. Regards, --KSiOM(Talk) 12:03, 11 November 2008 (UTC)

- Thank you for replying! See the upload page for wikipedia/wikimedia contents here. Citizendium requires real name even for items in the public domain for purpose of verification. I am a Citizendium author (see my user page), and the my user name is my real name. I promise I will not reveal your name to anyone, including people in Wikipedia - I guarantee it because I do not edit here. I really like your image - it's very professionally done, so could e-mail me your real name? Thank you! Sincerely. (Chunbum Park (talk) 18:06, 11 November 2008 (UTC))
[edit] Technical problem with Image:Korea topographic map.svg
Hi. It seems that something, probably related to the recent image loss bug, has caused the most recent revision of Image:Korea topographic map.svg to be replaced with an old version. Since the replaced version appears to be irrevocably lost from the servers, could you please reupload it? Thanks in advance, and sorry for the trouble. —Ilmari Karonen (talk) 15:21, 12 November 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for notice, but actually I want to delete that file because of rendering problem. --KSiOM(Talk) 19:13, 4 December 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Thanks ! (again)

There seems to be a problem regarding the description and/or licensing of this particular file. It has been found that you've added in the image's description only a Template that's not a license and although it provides useful informations about the image, it's not a valid license. Could you please resolve this problem, adding the license in the image linked above? You can edit the description page and change the text. Uploading a new version of the file does not change the description of the file. This page may give you more hints on which license to choose. Thank you.

[edit] Licensing?
Hello, I wanted to use your topographical map of China for an online high school course on Chinese language and culture. However, I did not see a licensing/use statement. Have you released the image to public domain, or do you license it under a specific commons banner (gnu, ssa, etc.). Please let me know so I can properly attribute the image.
Thanks!
