Removing categories[edit]
Hi, Please do not remove valid categories (like the one on Category:Millie and Christine McCoy). Can you also please give an edit summary so that people like myself know why you changed it? Thanks. Deadstar (msg) 12:53, 23 October 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for your note & the changes - all cleared up now. Kind regards, Deadstar (msg) 07:33, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
Image:USMinorAbortionLawsMap.png[edit]
Hi. I was wondering whether you know which colour Washhington D.C. was supposed to have on the above map. Cheers. /Lokal_Profil 19:25, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
- I never intended to include Washington, D.C. on my original version of the map — just the 50 U.S. states. According to a couple of sources I checked, Washington, D.C. has no law requiring parental consent or notification before a minor's abortion.[1][2] That would mean that D.C. would be coloured pink ("No parental notification or consent laws") if you wanted to add it to the map. Hope that helps. :) -Kyd 04:44, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks. I've added it to the map. On a similar note do you know which colour D.C. should have in Image:USMandatoryWaitingPeriodLaws.png? Also I'm thinking the light yellow might be two bright in the svg so if you have any suggestions for coulour changes that would be appreciated. =) /Lokal_Profil 11:51, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
- The same input would be appreciated for Image:Map of Canada, abortion access.svg where the white colour previously used is no longer possible (grey used as a temporary colour). /Lokal_Profil 12:14, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
- I've done some colour tweaking but I'm not entirely convinced. /Lokal_Profil 23:45, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
- And so the final svg is done. So as before, if you find info about D.C.'s colour for Image:USPreAbortionCounsellingLaws.png then please give a shout =) /Lokal_Profil 03:09, 8 December 2007 (UTC)

- According to this source, D.C. does not legally require either a waiting period or counselling before abortion, which means it would be coloured light yellow on this map ("No mandatory waiting period") and pale blue on this map ("No mandatory counselling"). -Kyd 15:25, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
(Outdent) I'm not really certain how the SVG format works. Does it have a restricted palette of colours? If so, I think your current selections work fine, but if not, I'd recommend lightening the pale yellow in this map a couple of shades (#F3FF95 -> #F5FFAA). As for the Canadian map, I'm not sure that the pale blue fits the original colour scheme, so I'd recommend substituting it for a pale beige (#F9FFCA). Thanks for converting all of my maps to SVG format. I searched high and low for actual symbols to use in the legend transcription of this map. I'll be sure to add those to the pages for the PNG versions. -Kyd 16:04, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
- SVG doesn't have a restricted palette 8as far as I know). The reason for changein the colours originally was that it became hard to se e where the state/province ended and the background began. I've now upadated the maps for D.C. and the colours. I also couldn't find the right symbols to use for the legend transcription so I just uploaded nwe ones =). Thanks for the help and for the original maps. /Lokal_Profil 03:19, 14 December 2007 (UTC)
Hope you don't mind[edit]
I used your image to answer a question at this URL: Blurtit.com. I am the user JessMW_jmw. I hope you do not mind that I used your work. I said what license it was under and gave links to the sites of both you and the co author and the site of the license. Just want to make sure there are no problems!!! Miagirljmw14

Hello Kyd!
Thank you for providing images to Wikimedia Commons. Please keep in mind that images uploaded to Commons should be useful to all users of Wikimedia projects. This is possible only if the images can be found by other people.
To allow others to find the images you uploaded here, the images should be in some place that can be found by navigating the category structure. This means that you should put the images into appropriate topic pages, categories, optionally galleries, or both of them (see Commons:Categories). To find good categories for your images, the CommonSense tool may help.
You can find a convenient overview of your uploaded files in this gallery.
The important point is that the images should be placed in the general structure somewhere. There are a large number of completely unsorted images on Commons right now. If you would like to help to place some of those images where they can be found, please do!
Thank you. BotMultichillT (talk) 10:58, 29 November 2008 (UTC)
