Hello LadyofHats!
Thank you for providing images to Wikimedia Commons. Commons images are used by editors on many projects in many languages. Each image is put into categories. This helps other editors find them. Please add categories to each image you upload.
To add an image to a category, add the following code to the end of the page.
- [[Category:Category Name]]
For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbit of comets, add the following to the image description page:
- [[Category:Astronomy diagrams]]
- [[Category:Comets]]
This will make the diagram show up in the categories: Astronomy diagrams, Comets.
For further information on categories read Commons:Categories.
The CommonSense Tool often helps you find the best category for your image.
Here is a gallery of your images. Please check that each image has a category. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the help desk. Thank you.

[edit] DNA replication diagram
Great diagram, a bit misleading however. Appears that DNA replication is occuring in the 3' to 5' direction which doesn't occur.
Thanks

Not sure if you've updated the image since this comment was written, but I can't see anything of the sort. Too bad the article is a stub; your image deserves far more supporting & explanatory text: great image.

[edit] Citocinesis
[edit] Request
Hi! I'm sorry to be a pain, but is there any chance you could make a new version of the 2007 POTY award logos for the 2008 awards?
I'm afraid that the 2008 could possibly use a few additional images - the finalists are being selected from the top images in each category, due to the difficulty of adjudicating it by hand any other way, meaning that we have first, second, and third place, as well as honourable mentions in each of the categories. We'll need an honourable mention award, even if we don't have a new image for each category. =/
Sorry to be such a pain, and to have gotten to you so late. However, there's no chance whatsoever that we'll need these images before early March. Adam Cuerden (talk) 23:56, 10 February 2009 (UTC)
Your Work is amazing i really like your Gap junction picture with the Desmosomes illustrated in 3d! thanks and please keep it up! you have a new fan! ;)--Ramsin Shamouni 21:43, 12 February 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Hearing science images
I had left a request with Inductiveload who mentioned you do excellent with with SVG anatomic diagrams and the like. I have some preliminary specs filed with the Philip Greenspun project. If that's something you're interested in, I can fairly easily provide non-free images to work from (including my terrible hand-drawn sketches). Thanks — Mike.lifeguard 15:55, 14 February 2009 (UTC)
- I'm a bit stalled on writing that book anyways, so I'll grab your attention when you get back. Have a good trip! — Mike.lifeguard 18:05, 3 March 2009 (UTC)
Are you around now? — Mike.lifeguard 23:02, 29 March 2009 (UTC)
yeah i got back this last weekend, still geting organized but i could start with something. so what is exactly what you need -LadyofHats (talk) 03:31, 30 March 2009 (UTC)
- I've been leaving requests at User:Inductiveload/Mike.lifeguard requests, which shows some stuff I still need. Is it OK if the two of you work off the same page? Saves duplication of work etc. It's not a huge rush (in fact, I've somewhat stopped writing that textbook... I'll begin again in the summer). Thanks for any help. — Mike.lifeguard 05:00, 30 March 2009 (UTC)

[edit] SVG advice
Hello LadyOfHats! I'm just getting started on learning how to create SVG images. Since you are the unequaled master of SVGitude in WikiWorld, I wanted to ask your advise on a couple things?
- Right now I'm using Illustrator, but I was wondering if it's worth the hassle of installing X11 on my Mac so that I can use Inkscape instead? What program do you usually use?
- Any advise on fonts? Illustrator offers 3 options for SVG font formatting: "Adobe CEF" (apparently best quality, but least compatibility), "SVG" (the W3C standard for SVG font formatting), and "convert to outlines". Which of those 3 do you think would be best? Also, there are several "font subsetting" options (I think this controls what font characters, if any are embedded in the file): None (Use System Fonts), Only Glyphs Used, Common English, All Glyphs. Any suggestions for that option as well?
If you could reply on my talk page, that would be awesome. Thanks for your time! Kaldari (talk) 23:44, 17 February 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Typo
Greetings, Lady of Hats. One of the labels on File:Appendicular skeleton diagram.svg reads Shoulder gridle; that should apparently be Shoulder girdle or, perhaps, to conform to the terminology on the description page and associated articles, Pectoral girdle. Waltham, The Duke of 16:33, 24 February 2009 (UTC)
Hi LadyofHats! The right five in File:Jellyfish_cross_section_numbered.svg is suppose to be a six, I believe. Thanks! --Garnesson (talk) 16:52, 9 November 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Reproductive aparatus
Hi,
Can you draw the two reproductive aparatus (with names and with no names) of male and female? I'm amazing of the quality of your images. Great job!.

[edit] Entamoeba histolytica
Dear Mariana,
for a future Esperanto article on Entamoeba histolytica, I translated your SVG-file Entamoeba histolytica life cycle-en.svg into Esperanto. But I can't get away two black boxes in the Esperanto version. Do you have any idea, where they are from???

[edit] Grüß dich
Hola, Mariana.
really nice image on protein translation in the ribosome - you helped me understand a concept. cheers mate!
[edit] Thank you for your wonderful images
Dear Lady of Hats,
THANK YOU for providing such beautiful images. I work in education and frequently use your images.
Best wishes,

[edit] DNA and Proteins
Just wondering if you've considered putting together images of helix-loop-helix proteins and DNA - something higher resolution than your DNA replication fork schematic. Some software available, but the missing information is the difference of scale: 3 base pairs of DNA encodes *one* amino acid residue. This is a ratio of about 6:1 in terms of mass, which is mostly missed in scale models. Could be contributed to DNA codon page in Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genetic_code.
[edit] SVG version for File:Liverwort life cycle.jpg
Hi, I am currently translating your amazing diagrams into German using Inkscape. Could you upload the SVG version for File:Liverwort life cycle.jpg so I can translate the text easily as well? I saw that you convert your text into pathes to get it rendered properly. You don't have to when you use non-floating textboxes (Help:SVG#Fonts). Matt (talk) 09:02, 21 May 2009 (UTC)

hi, i want to thank you for your hilarious kodiak bear picture you took, i love that picture so much. that bear looks so damn disgruntled, the expression is priceless. it is so awesome.

Can you help me fix up File:File-Chigger bite.svg, I don't know why this keeps happening. Bugboy52.40 (talk) 00:53, 31 May 2009 (UTC)
- Fixed it. Matt (talk) 14:01, 31 May 2009 (UTC)

- Thank you, but the gradiants on the mouth parts are still coming up strange, and I used times new romans because I new there was a font problem. Bugboy52.40 (talk) 22:15, 31 May 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks, I use Inkscape (I used the Fill and Stroke tool, but it is set up on HSL, whatever that means). Bugboy52.40 (talk) 16:13, 1 June 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Thanks for all !
Hello Lady of Hats,
Just to tell you : thanks for all these images. Today, one of your pictures has been selected for being « Image du jour » on the french Wikipédia (this one). I didn't know if somebody told you...
So, thank you again ! Cordialement, --Wikinade (talk) 13:34, 14 June 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Typo in QI candidate
Hi, noticed a small typo in an otherwise very good illustration: File:Leishmaniasis_life_cycle_diagram_en.svg Amas*t*igotes in bottom left. Jochen --Iotatau (talk) 11:04, 29 June 2009 (UTC)
Sorry to bother you again, I overlooked another typo: "divition", at the left border. --Iotatau (talk) 14:56, 29 June 2009 (UTC)
- A beautiful image of my favorite parasite's lifecycle! There are some things I've recommended as changes in the QI review. TimVickers (talk) 21:41, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
-
- Metacyclics are about 1/2 the size of procyclics and tend to have longer flagella, but as the difference isn't striking you can use the same image. The neutrophils role was published in PMID 18703742, it is certainly true that Leishmania can infect neutrophils and then move on to macrophages but it probably isn't true that they only infect through neutrophils. Whether to include this is up to you, as I'm hesitant to say for certain if this is part of the lifecycle. TimVickers (talk) 00:16, 2 July 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Quality Image Promotion

Congratulations! Image File:Ribosome mRNA translation en.svg, which was nominated by you for Quality Image status, was reviewed and has now been promoted. If you would like to nominate another image, please do so at Quality images candidates. |
[edit] Typo in Mendel drawing
Hi LadyofHats, regarding your QI candidate File:Independent_assortment_&_segregation.svg there is a small error: the top left field should be "rryy", not "rrYy". And in the two topmost circles I would drag down the two "R" a bit, they are covered by the "chromosome". Cheers --Iotatau (talk) 14:36, 2 July 2009 (UTC)

I proposed a redesign of the Featured Picture logo. Since you designed (and quite beautifully I might add) the QI and VI logos, I thought you might be interested. Commons_talk:Featured_picture_candidates#Problem_With_The_FP_Image --Calibas (talk) 02:05, 16 July 2009 (UTC)
[edit] POTY 2009
Hi LadyofHats. Would you please make a 2009 POTY barnstar, similar to File:POTY barnstar 1 2007.svg? I'm asking you to change "2007" to "2009", but if you could create a new one, then that's great too. Best regards, — Kanonkas // talk // e-mail // 13:09, 4 September 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Request for Permission
Hello LadyofHats. I'd like to use your images to test an SVG profiling tool that I'm building: islint (InkScape lint)
I found you by accident, I'm taking a life drawing 'Anatomy' course and I was looking for a skeleton for a homework assignment. I'm so delighted with your images! I'm one of the authors of SVG, I work with it, and I am so pleased to see it applied with such skill.
I need complex images to use for a test suite, it would be so very nice to use some of yours. I can easily get the file size down to better than half, a nice side benefit. Of course they should be signed. Tsingi (talk) 19:25, 19 September 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Respect!
Hi LadyofHats, I just stumbled upon some of your very well-done images, and I wanted to let you know that I appreciate that you're putting them into the public domain. Keep up the excellent work! Pie4all88 (talk) 10:17, 8 October 2009 (UTC)
[edit] DNA replication image
I agree that this is a great image EXCEPT for the very confusing error in the labelling of the strands. All 3' and 5' need to be reversed to make it correct and accurate and aligned with the text. Momo
[edit] Fix for File:Jellyfish cross section numbered.svg
Hi. Your File:Jellyfish cross section numbered.svg has two number 5's and no 6. It was pointed out by someone with an annotation. I haven't done SVG editing or I would fix it myself... Thanks. Wknight94 talk 21:42, 9 November 2009 (UTC)
