First steps tutorial

Our first steps tour and our frequently asked questions will help you a lot after registration. They explain how to customize the interface (for example the language), how to upload files and our basic licensing policy (Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content).

You don't need technical skills in order to contribute here. Be bold when contributing and assume good faith when interacting with others. This is a wiki.

Getting help

More information is available at the community portal. You may ask questions at the help desk, village pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons (webchat). You can also contact an administrator on their talk page. If you have a specific copyright question, ask at the copyright village pump.

Goodies, tips, and tricks
  • Put Babel boxes on your user page so others know what languages you can speak and indicate your graphic abilities.
  • You can find the files you have uploaded in your Uploads.
  • Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~.
  • To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg.
  • You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account.
  • There are several tools to upload files.
  • Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful.
Made a mistake?

Pay attention to licensing

Ciao, come forse saprai quest'anno Wikimania, il raduno annuale delle comunità Wikimedia, si terrà a Esino Lario (Lecco) dal 22 al 28 giugno.

Come per le scorse edizioni dell'evento, anche per il 2016 l'associazione Wikimedia Italia intende rendere disponibili alcune borse di partecipazione.

Contrade di Milano[edit]

Come disse qualcuno una volta, tutto si può fare, mi servirebbe però sapere se e quali tempi ci sono da rispettare. Per quanto riguarda poi le immagini (non ho ancora letto il testo), vanno bene degli stendardi, come quelli presentati, o devono essere riformulati sotto forma di stemmi? Infine, se restano nella forma di stendardi, ci sono delle specifiche vincolanti su forme, proporzioni e/o dimensioni? Ultima notazione: vedo che gli stemmi dei sestieri li ha fatti Gjo, persona notoriamente accurata; ma la fonte che ha utilizzato lui non è coerente con quella che mi hai indicato tu, come si nota facilmente dallo stemma del sestiere della porta orientale (non ho verificato gli altri). http://www.armoriale.it/wiki/Categoria:Stemmi_civici. Le immagini sono con licenza del tutto libera, per cui, volendo, possono essere anche caricate su commons. Se ti possono servire utilizzale tranquillamente. Io, col tempo, lavorerò anche alle rimanenti. Vorrei però pregarti di fare qualche verifica: la blasonatura presente nell'almanacco della famiglia meneghina è leggermente in contrasto con le immagini allora realizzate, in particolare per le contrade dell'Agnello e della Bagutta. Io ho fatto degli stemmi che, a mio parere, sono più rispondenti alla blasonatura di quanto lo siano le immagini del 1955. Se non è così dimmelo in modo da poter fare le correzioni necessarie. Peer fortuna avevo già lavorato un po' e quindi ho potuto finire oggi. La categoria in cui puoi trovare gli stemmi ora è Stemmi civici della Lombardia. Ci sono tutte le contrade. Puoi utilizzarli come preferisci. Tieni conto che troverai in molti casi differenze anche notevoli con l'Almanacco, ma ho deciso di affidarmi esclusivamentge alle blasonature, che sembrano stilatre da qualcuno che ci capisce qualcosa, ignorando i disegni, che mi sembrano invece opere di un disegnatore di buona volontà ma del tutto privo di conoscenze, e quindi incapace di capire ciò che descrivono le blasonature. Per quanto riguarda gli stemmi dei sestieri, ho trovato alcune fonti che ne portano delle immagini abbastanza diverse anche da quelle dell'Almanacco e da quelle di Gjo. Sarebbe bello trovare qualcosa di attendibile. Ciao e buon lavoro. Massimop (che fine ha fatto il tasto per la firma automatica ?)
