Can you please explain the deletion: (cur | prev) 02:39, 6 November 2012‎ CommonsDelinker (talk | contribs)‎ m . . (26,665 bytes) (-823)‎ . . (Removing "Blason_Baux-Orange.svg", it has been deleted from Commons by MBisanz because: Per commons:Commons:Deletion requests/Blasons français.) . There doesn't seem to be a reason. It is cited min the French version of Wikipedia, as well as the footnotes on the entries in the table.

As well as:

• Template:MLCC
• GENEALOGY Maison del Balzo/des Baux by Gioacchino del Balzo with extensive bibliography
• Grand Armorial du Comtat Venaissin by Jean Gallian
• History of Les Baux en Provence

As well as on monuments, etc around my wife's village (les Baux), not to mention being carved into lots of stone work in the town of Orange itself.

Washington Convention Center photo

MBisanz, I wanted to see if your photo of the DC convention could be used in a book. I saw the various licenses available, and I just wanted to be certain that those licenses, namely copyleft, cover commercial uses.

May I state that this is a little ugly, it should have been handled as a {{duplicate}} as the file was in use at sister sites. Admins at Commons need to better handle processing of works and consider works in use at sister sites rather than just thinking that clearing a queue here is the priority.  — billinghurst sDrewth 07:26, 27 November 2012 (UTC)

Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the 2012 Picture of the Year competition is now open. We're interested in your opinion as to which images qualify to be the Picture of the Year for 2012. Voting is open to established Wikimedia users who meet the following criteria:

1. Users must have an account, at any Wikimedia project, which was registered before Tue, 01 Jan 2013 00:00:00 +0000 [UTC].
2. This user account must have more than 75 edits on any single Wikimedia project before Tue, 01 Jan 2013 00:00:00 +0000 [UTC]. Please check your account eligibility at the POTY 2012 Contest Eligibility tool.
3. Users must vote with an account meeting the above requirements either on Commons or another SUL-related Wikimedia project (for other Wikimedia projects, the account must be attached to the user's Commons account through SUL).

Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year are all entered in this competition. From professional animal and plant shots to breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historically relevant images, images portraying the world's best architecture, maps, emblems, diagrams created with the most modern technology, and impressive human portraits, Commons features pictures of all flavors.

For your convenience, we have sorted the images into topic categories. Two rounds of voting will be held: In the first round, you can vote for as many images as you like. The first round category winners and the top ten overall will then make it to the final. Do you trust this uploader's statement? Perhaps you can contact him if you know something about his identity. Its used for the Nighthawk wrestler. hello; this deletion was incorrect on 2 points:

1. the article about vanessa harding WAS NOT "DELETED FROM en/WP; it's right ther, & i can't even find any indication that it was ever removed. you appear to have, in fact, REMOVED THE ONLY IMAGE WE HAD FOR THIS ARTICLE.

2. commons scope is DIFFERENT from wikipedia's "equivalent" (rules re: notability, etc.). whether or not the article @ wikipedia meets their guidelines, the file's inclusion @ commons is a COMPLETELY SEPARATE MATTER. & you should NOT have deleted the file merely "because the article was removed from wp:en". the action here requires SEPARATE CONSIDERATION, HERE.

even setting aside the fact that THE WIKIPEDIA ARTICLE WAS NOT REMOVED, such a file probably STILL qualified on commons, falling within scope in MULTIPLE CATEGORIES.

after having reviewed only a handful of your actions here @ commons, it increasingly appears that youi regard you actions her as an "extension" of your wikipedia activity, rather than as a separate projectwith its own rule, processes & goals. if you cannot operate here as a "commons admin" rather than as a "wikipedia admin" who is just visting commons, i would request that you refrain from administrative actions here, & consider if you should continue to have admin-level access @ commons.

you seem to have the mistaken impression that "uncontested DR" is a policy @ wikimedia commons.

it is NOT!

that rule may apply @ wikipedia, but it does not apply here. please stop using this as a deletion-rationale immediately.

hello again;

just to let you know,i've started a discussion about your activities at [1]. i'm sorry to do this; when i initiated the topic, i was hoping to get a "general ruling" on the matter of "uncontested DR", that i could then cite here, without having to "name names". but it became necessary to provide examples of the problem...

at that point, it became impossible not to cite your activities directly. i would rather have waited to hear back from you before taking further direct action, but after the discussion got started, there really wasnt anything else i could do. particularly as you appear to be the primary (& certainly the most senior) user-admin who closes DRs @ commons with this rationale.
