[edit] Prace-prawa autorskie

[edit] Armenia

Thank you for yelling at me and insulting me. Helps me understand what am I dealing with. But I ask you respect the official policy of Wikipedia which says No original research. Now if you consider Armenian minister of foreign affaris (we colour many other countries based on decisions by MFA) to be some bloody chap who has no idea what is he talking about then it's your choice but he is the highly positioned official of Armenia and should be respected as such. Twisting "Foreign Minister of Armenia Vartan Oskanian, stated that Armenia has no intention to recognize independence of Kosovo and that "Granting independence to Kosovo, the international community violated the legal norms but forgot Karabakh"." to your likings will not change the fact that Armenia will not recognize Kosovo and that it considers such move illegal. --Avala 16:51, 26 February 2008 (UTC)

Unlike recognition, countries that don't recognise do not make an official document about this as they legally consider the situation unchanged. Only countries which have made some kind of official document that they do not recognise are Serbia and Romania. All other countries have made their positions clear through statements of their ministers or leaders. Now about your threats - as an admin on one of Wikipedia projects I am obliged to remind you of No personal attacks official policy. Also removal of sourced content is called vandalism. If my understanding of the matter wasn't supported by few other users I would have doubted I was right but considering you are the only person who disagrees and you are defending your position not on facts but on aggressive and rude comments I believe my position is right. --Avala 17:21, 26 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] misunderstanding

I really hope you have just misunderstood the section "States that support further negotiations under UN auspices or disagree with unilateral moves." when you removed countries which are advocating further talks. I really believe you had no bad intentions and that it was just a misunderstanding on your behalf. --Avala 18:32, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

Do you understand the fact that removing material that is sourced is called vandalism? There is nothing to resolve here, it can only be reverted. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia not a forum. So if you dislike the position of some country you can go to a political discussion forum and express your opinion there or even campaign for a president and then make your own politics but removing sourced information on positions of countries on some issue just for the sole reason you dislike these positions is not what we are looking for here. If you blank the information we have added with sources it doesn't change reality and will be soon reverted. And it seems you are into this blanking as you did it with other countries as well but when other users warned you, you did stop blanking those but you have also moved to blanking others. --Avala 19:36, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Final warning

Please stop your upload war or you will be blocked from editing. I have protected both Kosovo-related maps; please discuss changes before further uploading. Thanks, Boricuæddie 19:46, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

I am not here to decide who is right; let the community do that, at the Village Pump. I am not here to solve the dispute, I'm here to make sure that our rules are not broken and our website is not disrupted. You were both defending your POVs, and, if you continue to do this, you will both be blocked. I cannot take sides here. I'm sorry. Good day. --Boricuæddie 23:17, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
I'm sorry, but there should be consensus on a change before I unprotect the images. Alternatively, you can wait for the protection to expire. Cheers, Boricuæddie 23:48, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Russia

Russia could only recognize Kosovo's independence within the framework of international law, Russian President Vladimir Putin said Saturday. "If such a compromise is found, we will agree," Putin was quoted by Russian news agencies as telling the press after meeting with visiting German Chancellor Angela Merkel, the first foreign leader to visit Russia since the country's March 2 presidential election. - [3] - does this justify painting Russia in khaki? I mean they might recognize it one day so it's khaki, no? --Avala 14:30, 13 March 2008 (UTC)

No, it wouldn't justify painting Russia khaki, because of other evidence: They took a formal position against, in principle, in the UN Security Council. They are officially on record as refuting the declaration. Please don't do "reductio ad absurdum". Slovakia, on the other hand, is genuinely undecided, and Bosnia in the words of its own president "won't recognize soon" and otherwise has not made any representations as a state. Cuba neither. Indonesia, Sudan, Egypt - neither. Your point? --Mareklug talk 14:35, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
And Slovakian PM said (who has the power not the President because Slovakia is not a presidential system but parliamentary) that Slovakia is not going to recognize Kosovo while the President said he thinks it might happen in few years. On the other hand we have Czech R. where the government said that Czech R. is going to recognize while the President said he is against. How come you didn't paint Czech R. in khaki then? Mój punkt? Wy dajecie źródła albo wy przerywacie wasze czyny. Wasze czyny spowodowały tylko krzywda dotychczas - 3 były zamykane i jedzicie mapa była przesuwana. Dziękuję --Avala 14:42, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
Forget the honorable Slovakian president. Concentrate on what the Foreign Minister said on the 21st, as sourced by SKToday.com on en wiki talk page of the international reaction to the 2008 Kosovo declaration of independence article. Your only reaction to that was, "Selective quoting", and giving a day older Chinese source that paraphrases the Prime Minister -- as you allude to him here. So. Prime Minister one day paraphrased by PRC source (hardly impartial). And his Foreign Minister, quoted in a Slovakian source a day later. You choose. --Mareklug talk 14:46, 13 March 2008 (UTC)

So you want SKtoday? Fico: Slovakia Won't Recognise Kosovo's Unilaterally-Declared Independence and Fico: Kosovo's Independence Resembles Munich Agreement Fico also said that Slovakia has the right to its own stance, and shares the same view on Kosovo with several other EU-member states, including Spain. So are you still saying Slovakia is neutral? --Avala 14:50, 13 March 2008 (UTC)

Ok, let us consider your evidence presented here for the first time:
  • The first source is from 10 December 2007. I dismiss it as outdated, and of no consequnce to determining Slovakia's position TODAY.
  • The second source contains this sentence: "Referring to the four-month period that Slovak Foreign Minister Jan Kubis said is necessary for Slovakia to consider recognising Kosovo, Fico stressed that this doesn't mean that the country will automatically acknowledge Kosovo's independence when the given period expires."
Dear Avala. That means that for the next 4 months they are by definition khaki as in delaying decision by evaluating it. Please come to your senses. --Mareklug talk 14:55, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
So it comes to choice between your interpretation and Robert Fico's words. With all due respect I think PM of Slovakia, Robert Fico, knows the position of Slovakia better. --Avala 16:07, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
What "your interpretation"? Did I interpret? Read the words from the source you gave: "Referring to the four-month period that Slovak Foreign Minister Jan Kubis said is necessary for Slovakia to consider recognising Kosovo, Fico stressed that this doesn't mean that the country will automatically acknowledge Kosovo's independence when the given period expires.". Come back 4 months from now, cuz that's when Slovakia will recognize or not. Until then, "delaying recognition" = khaki. --Mareklug talk

abf /talk to me/ 20:23, 19 March 2008 (UTC)

I am very, very unhappy, to have been blocked, and that, after I already gave up fixing vandalism by User:Avala. In all my Commons/Wikipedia activity since 2005, I have never been blocked on Commons, and I was once blocked for 1 hour on the Polish Wikipedia, also recently, and also in the context of reverting vandalism. Be that as it may, I regret having come to this outcome.

However, I take issue with Mr. Avala's edits, the whole cloth, both the Kosovo_relations maps on Commons and on English Wikipedia, sum total edits in the article about the international reaction to 2008 Kosovo independence declaration.

User:Avala, w:User:Tocino, and w:User:Top Gun are engaged in a tag-team wrestling-like effort of skewing reality in the service of a Serbia government POV. This is particularly distressing, as User:Avala represents himself as an administrator on the Serb Wikipedia. I am appalled to see that an administrator can exhibit such bad judgment and lack of objectivity, as well as engage in unmittigated edit-warring on two projects at once.

For evidence, I point you to the talk page and the revision history. In the context of the two Commons maps, for which defense I have been blocked (along with User:Avala), countries such as Brazil, Algeria, Cuba have been marked by User:Avala as officially rejecting Kosovo's independence, while they have officially not acted at all. Furthermore, I have demonstrated on the talk page of the article on the Wikipedia, that User:Avala synthesized a quote for the Brazilian Foreign Minister, and together with the other 2 named editors above, kept restoring this bogus content to the article. Such behavior speaks for itself, and if anything, demands administrative scrutiny as demonstrably damaging WIkipedia through persitent introduction and maintenance of fabrications. I'm sorry to have discovered myself blocked on Commons, and feel at least partly vindicated, seeikng that a person took a look at the actual content of these maps, and reverted them to my last version. I would like to add Monaco, a white-bordered dark blue circle, since otherwise Monaco is invisible against the identically Kosovo-recognizing background of France. I believe that as of 21 March 2008, that is the only missing content from an otherwise conservatively sourced and true map state. Is it possible for me to convey this fixed map for you to upload? Thank you, and best wishes, Saddened, --Mareklug talk 02:47, 21 March 2008 (UTC)

P.s. The aforementioned map with Monaco (dark-blue in a white flattened circle) is available here: pl:Grafika:Kosovo relations2.svg. Thank you, and once again, very sorry. --Mareklug talk 06:32, 21 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Portugal

Actually, yeah - the Prime Minister issued a request to recognize Kosovo and brought it to the parliament twice - since the President opposes it. However the parliament twice discussed and with a majority decided not to recognize Kosovo, on the grounds that there is not an international view to the solution of the Kosovo status. --PaxEquilibrium 12:34, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

A copy of my reply posted on User talk:Mattbuck: Hi there. You acted too swiftly for me to be able to react. Could you tell me how this image constitutes copyvio? I obtained it from he Wiki, where it was uploaded and licenced with cc-by-2.5 by its author and original Flickr uploader. I transferred conscientiously all the history and info to Commons at the time. What is wrong with the image or its documentation? Furthermore, it is the original image from which an excerpt is installed on the Commons (just the daughter, with the rest of the image cropped). Thank you for explaining. --Mareklug talk 17:38, 11 August 2008 (UTC)
Hi, sorry for not explaining. The image may have been transwikied from he.wp, but the original image was from flickr, and was licenced as all rights reserved, which is not suitable for commons. Could you please give me a link to the excerpt, as that should also be deleted for the same reasons. -mattbuck (Talk) 17:46, 11 August 2008 (UTC)

Hello Mareklug!

Thank you for providing images to Wikimedia Commons. Commons images are used by editors on many projects in many languages. Each image is put into categories. This helps other editors find them. Please add categories to each image you upload.

To add an image to a category, add the following code to the end of the page.

[[Category:Category Name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbit of comets, add the following to the image description page:

[[Category:Astronomy diagrams]]
[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories: Astronomy diagrams, Comets.

For further information on categories read Commons:Categories.

The CommonSense Tool often helps you find the best category for your image.

Here is a gallery of your images. Please check that each image has a category. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the help desk. Thank you.
