## Hi there

I am new here, so I thought I have covered and filled all the necessary info before uploading, all necessary boxes were filled. I simply don't know what else is needed, Yemen Tourism Ministry is the source what shall I add more than that? User:Wikissance

I mean if Yemeni Law says "It is a photographic work produced more than ten years ago". then it can be use as public domain.

OK, Sorry I have miss calculated there are few months to go to complete the 10 years.

But if I upload something more than 10 years old. for example a 20 years old postcard produced in Yemen and I provided the source (lets say Yemen Ministry of Tourism) will there be any problem in the future?. Thanks for your help Martin.

--Merlissimo (talk) 21:23, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

Funktionieren sollten
--Martin H. (talk) 22:23, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
--Merlissimo (talk) 22:57, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

## Photo of Mason Vale Cotton

OK I understand. Thank you. That's what I was thinking. In google.ro, the photo of this young actor doesn't have a real source and it's not authorized.
In fact, there is a fansite of Mason Vale Cotton, and they have been authorized by Mason's mum to show Mason's photos on the web. The photos belong to the site and to the Cotton's family and we can't use them. But I have Mason's mum e-mail adress, so I a can ask the photo's owner, who is Mason's mother or the responsable of the fansite, to know if I can put the photo on Mason's wikipedia page.

I have a question : Is it ok for wikipedia if I have the autorisation from the photo's owner (I don't want to be outlaw !), and how can I prove that they authorized me ? Because they will delete the photo if they don't know that I have been authorized by somebody to show the photos. So, can you tell me if it's possible to have an autorisation from the owner of the photo to put the photo on wikipedia pages ?

Good bye, thank you, and I hope you will answer.

## CRAN

Hi, Writing to you about http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fichier:DinerannuelduCRAN405022009.jpg This picture has not been taken by a press agency or a media outlet. This was an event organized by the CRAN (National black council, France), thus pictures were taken, especially since Miss France was there. Everybody wants to be on the picture when Miss France is there. And everybody took pictures. Thanks for your understanding, I followed the procedure,

## Daniel DeWeldon Photos - 2_DDeWeldon_DDBS_1.JPG and all others

Martin:

I have just received 7 notifications raising the issue of copyright on some images to be used on the page "Daniel DeWeldon". I have been helping Daniel (an actor, writer and producer) build the page for promotional purposes and recently uploaded some images including his headshots, production stills and posters from past plays he has starred in and produced. It is my first time uploading images and I must say it's a little confusing when it comes to copyright infringements.

Daniel is the owner of his headshots and asked me to upload them. The posters are from plays he produced and starred and he has the right to use them for self-promotion.

Is there a way I can clear up any issues so the images won't be deleted? Please contact me as soon as you are able and let me know what I must do to satisfy the Wikimedia requirements.

Respectfully,

Allen Nalasco aka apnscribe

## Trouble with uploaded photo

Hi! You commented that there was a problem with my photo because it does not list its author. I made it myself, and so I am not sure what I am supposed to do to keep you from erasing it. I am new to Wikipedia, and the process has not been very intuitive for me. - WindyMaine

done. --Martin H. (talk) 14:35, 14 June 2009 (UTC)

Your response makes sense. You are right- I myself did not snap the aerial photo. However, it was taken for a commissioned map for Maine Mountain Power. Endless Energy, which manages Maine Mountain Power gives consent for the use and alteration of this map (I know because I would be one of the people in the office allowed to give such consent). I added in the legend and the larger labels myself. I'd really appreciate any help with this. What do I need to do for it to be ok online?

The aerial map: "Maine Mountain Power Study Area" Data Source: Proposed Features from Maine Mountain Power Maine. Office of GIS for all other features and aerial photography. Aerial photography from 2003 flight. Other features from USGS 1:100,000 Quads.

## Rihanna and images

In that place I can make your complaint? I will not lower our guard, as is always to find problems on images that i upload the Commons, for example [8] and [9]. You can see where you want the MTV Movie Awards in 2007, was in June! Rihanna also performed where you can see by this Sunday that will give MTV the MTV Movie Awards 2009. And the description of this image [10], you can read that the photo was taken in June 2007, furthermore, the other image is not licensed, there is no source of credibility ... Vítor&R™ (Live Your Life!) 12h39min de 2 de Junho de 2009 (UTC)

??? Who is the photographer and who is the holder of copyrights? --Martin H. (talk) 12:55, 2 June 2009 (UTC)

[11] that picture have explicit licensing, and other photos of the user is the same license and even features of the camera! [12] Are photos of the concert of the tour! If you believe that another user has a picture, why not believe in this? Just because I took one night to demand, walking days to search for photos? Why? Vítor&R™ (Live Your Life!) 18h04min de 2 de Junho de 2009 (UTC)

Again: Only the holder of copyrights can give a free license. Noone else. This Flickr user is not the photographer and not the holder of copyrights. Please read w:pt:Direito autoral and w:pt:Propriedade intelectual. Im getting tired of telling this again and again and again and you dont even understand this very basic of copyright. A Photo is an artistic work, it is protected by the authors copyright, "MikeABR" is does not own any copyright on this and his other uploads. --Martin H. (talk) 18:30, 2 June 2009 (UTC)

And i say again and again! How do you know that was not the user to take the photos? How? Where do your complaint? Or afraid to answer? You are not God, limit yourself to do your job and not judge the work of other users Vítor&R™ (Live Your Life!) 13h37min de 3 de Junho de 2009 (UTC)

Godam, the image is from getty images nr. #81642212, see http://www.gettyimages.com/detail/81642212/WireImage?axd=DetailPaging.Generic%7C1&axs=0%7C81642212%7C0. And now delete your Flickr account, im sick of your tries to undermine the idea of free content. If you not delete it i will block you, its realy enough. --Martin H. (talk) 12:41, 3 June 2009 (UTC)

I no longer use my account in Flirck, in addition to other photo has no description! And do not threaten me! I will find out and I denounced it for not having informed me where I can make your complaint! WHERE CAN I REPORT? Vítor&R™ (Live Your Life!) 14h21min de 3 de Junho de 2009 (UTC)

## Unblock request

Hi, there's an unblock request from User:Juancar22 on his talk page. Do you want to deal with it, since you're the blocker? Do you want me to deal with it? Do you want to find a Spanish admin to deal with it? I'm not familiar with unblock requests, but I guess it might be better if another admin than the blocker processes it, so that it might not seem biased or unilateral. Just tell me. --Eusebius (talk) 18:09, 3 June 2009 (UTC)

Better, yes. Reviewing the case all deletions are justified, the block was maybe a bit draconic but I cant see any good contributions witht this uploader. Translating the spanish reason shows nothing new, authorship is not understood. Maybe his authorship understanding bases on "scanning from brochures" or "modification of images". However the last copyvio was not even modified - it was a fraudulent fairy tale of self-taken photos in a car shop. I fixed the unblock template and will ask an es-n admin. --Martin H. (talk) 20:06, 3 June 2009 (UTC)
OK. Don't get me wrong however, I see nothing wrong with the block, that's not what I meant. --Eusebius (talk) 20:10, 3 June 2009 (UTC)
Hey Martin H. :) I've unblocked him. I've assumed good faith, and I'm almost 100% sure that he doesn't know anything about copyright and...you know how is this...and sometimes we've to block in order to prevent future problemes. I've also contacted him on es.wikipedia and I'll try to teach him about copyright in Commons. Best regards :) Rastrojo (DES) 21:33, 3 June 2009 (UTC)
Just another question, Martin. Some days ago, Lucien leGrey asked me to rename a file. He said that trusted users and admins had the right to rename pictures with a tool from the Toolserv. That was the first time I heard about this. When I tried to rename it, I couldn't but I don't understand why. Any idea? :S Rastrojo (DES) 21:49, 3 June 2009 (UTC)
But I couldn't use the 2nd way!! WHY?!!?? XD Rastrojo (DES) 22:08, 3 June 2009 (UTC)

Gracias.

Ah, now I understand. See w:es:Madonna (álbum) for example.

## Photo issue

Hi, since february 2009, you asked to delete this picture: http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Endalkachew_Mekonnen.JPG and I argued saying that in Ethiopian law, a photo published in a public place without bearing a name is not under any copyright, but still you have not taken your request away. May I know why ? (Vob08 talk) 19:17, 12 june 2009 (CET)

What should I say: It is still a derivative work (a work based on someone elses work) so it is unfree from the first point. A reason, why it is exempted from third party rights is not provided, an author is not attributed. Is the photo inside or outside a memorial? What is the law of ethiopia for artistic works placed in the public: Are derivatives of it ok or not in sense of COM:FOP?
I simply dont know. Ethiopia is an observer in the African Regional Intellectual Property Organization, this countries are regulary dont have freedom of panorama as far as I read. That means: Derivative works based on other peoples artistic work are not free for reuse without the original creators permission. --Martin H. (talk) 17:42, 12 June 2009 (UTC)

## Palencia pics

Hi Martin H. I saw that you delete many images about Palencia uploaded by Fernandoespañol because all were copyvios. Today, two recent-created users have uploaded more in the same article. Can you check that the license are right? Thanks, --Montgomery (talk) 15:27, 13 June 2009 (UTC)

Found 3 sockpuppets, see the "what links here" for Fernandoespanols userpage. Added the Wikipedia article to my watchlist. --Martin H. (talk) 15:41, 13 June 2009 (UTC)
Thanks again Martin. I mantained, since years ago, the article w:es:Palencia in my watchlist, and I believed that the images uploaded by Fernandoespañol are self-made... but the true are other. If in the future there are any suspect change in the article about the images, I'll notice you. Bye, --Montgomery (talk) 16:22, 13 June 2009 (UTC)
Yes, it is a pain to remove all this good images. There are some well images left on Commons and there are many realy free images on Flickr under cc-by or cc-by-sa, see here. A good one seems to be this album, e.g. the A62 photo was one of the deleted photos. If you want to use some of this cc-by or cc-by-sa images you should transfer them with the Flickr tool (but please pay attention: there are bad Flickr users too, take a look at the EXIF data, e.g. the album i said: Everythign with EOS 30D, also some family photos with EON 30D, this one is ok) --Martin H. (talk) 16:41, 13 June 2009 (UTC)
done. --Martin H. (talk) 14:35, 14 June 2009 (UTC)

## File:Bibiana Aído (high).jpg

File:Bibiana Aído (high).jpg is not copyrighted.
It has been downloaded from 20minutos, who license his work with CC-BY-SA.
The Terms of the license are here. ¿why did you deleted the image without a deletion request? --Rizome (talk) 20:00, 13 June 2009 (UTC)

RE1: The License says:
(I'm not an english-speaker. Sorry for my bad english.)

This license does not apply to content published by 20 minutes attributed to: agency, Reuters, Efe, Europa Press, Korp, Atlas, France Press, AP, Lanetro , Meteotemp, TPI, JM Jorge Nieto or Paris.

In this case, the image is atributed to Bibiana Aido, no one of listed above, what means the license is completly agree with 20minutos terms of license. --Rizome (talk) 21:06, 13 June 2009 (UTC)
"[...] ONLY Foto:20minutos, nothing else. 3rd party is 3rd Party, no matter listed in the legal note or not, 20minutos simply does not own the copyrights on photos w:es:Bibiana Aído created... She is not an employee of 20minutos.es ;) "
—Martin H.
RE2: The author, and the copyright holder, could not be the same person. You can give rights to other company. In this case, 20minutos explicitly assert: «This license does not apply to content published by 20 minutes attributed to: agency, Reuters, Efe, Europa Press, Korp, Atlas, France Press, AP, Lanetro , Meteotemp, TPI, JM Jorge Nieto or Paris.» If 20minutos writes a list, it is because any other person not listed, are agree to post his contents with CC-BY-SA in 20minutos.
Other way, the wouldn't write a list.--Rizome (talk) 08:37, 14 June 2009 (UTC)
(I'm not an english-speaker. Sorry for my bad english.)
The Terms of the licence exactly says: «Esta licencia no se aplica a los contenidos publicados por 20minutos procedentes los terceros siguientes: [...]» It doesn't say it was an example. Maybe the problem is that you aren't a Spanish native speaker.
What you are saying, must be writen this way: «Esta licencia no se aplica a los contenidos publicados por 20minutos procedentes de terceros, como por ejemplo: [...]» But it is not what 20minutos wrote.
What 20minutos is asserting is that only the thirds listed above (and that's why they list them, and not others), are not agree with CC-BY-SA. And any other third –not listed– will be agree with CC-BY-SA, and that's what we're talking about. Bibiana Aído is not in the list above → because she assigned his author rights to 20minutos. I suggest you read this: w:Copyright#Transfer_and_licensingA copyright, or aspects of it, may be assigned or transferred from one party to another [...]»)

You are still wrong. 20minutos.es is a very untrusted source, you should review them very carefully. I just nominated 3 files for deletion which are clearly claimed under wrong copyright by 20minutos. --Martin H. (talk) 14:35, 14 June 2009 (UTC)
RE4: 20minutos a very untrusted source? You are who are wrong. 20minutos is the newspaper with the widest circulation in Spain. His paper edition is readed for near 2.900.000 people every days. Of course, 20minutos has his own lawyers, and would never violate the copyright. They pay for images what they uses, and signs contract with the photographers when they aquire copyrights.
Please, reconsider what you said.
PS: please, answer me in my discussion page, thank you
--Rizome (talk) 15:18, 14 June 2009 (UTC)
Im not interested in having this discussion more teared, im answering here. My opinion is clear: 20minutos cant have sufficient rights to relicense works from other parties. Maybe it is possible to sell copyright in spain, but it is not possible to obtain copyrigth from agencies who simply never sell their rights. We had this with Commons:Deletion requests/File:Robyn Rihanna Fenty.jpg - Foto:Archivo means: Not 20 minutos in most cases. Your opinion "only the listed names of 3rd parties" is not supportable. Its proofen wrong so many times, just search for 20minutos in the Commons: namespace. --Martin H. (talk) 15:27, 14 June 2009 (UTC)
RE6: Not only in Spain. «A copyright, or aspects of it, may be assigned or transferred from one party to another [...]» It has ben explained in en:wikipedia.--Rizome (talk) 18:01, 14 June 2009 (UTC)
No, in many EU countries transfer of copyright is not possible. --Martin H. (talk) 18:04, 14 June 2009 (UTC)
RE8: "Transfer of copyright" makes posible a music record company distribute and make busines with music he doesn't composed or played, instead the original autor. Any way, it is regulated in w:Berne Convention for the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works, who regulates the copyrights over the world. The text recognise the transfer mentioned: «Independently of the author's economic rights, and even after the transfer of the said rights [...]» (Article 6bis)
In this case, we must assume that Bibiana Aido, interviewed by 20Minutos is agree with Terms of License of 20Minutos, as same as users do, who declares:
(Aviso Legal, 10.b)
--Rizome (talk) 09:53, 15 June 2009 (UTC)

No, we can not assume such things. Please see also http://www.20minutos.es/noticia/368763/1/, the same image wich is clearly unfree. Please simply take a realy free image and surround this one. They 99% dont have a permission or a transfer of copyright from the !photographer! to 20minutos. The terms of use must be broadened to other 3rd parties, not only the mentioned. --Martin H. (talk) 09:58, 15 June 2009 (UTC)

done. --Martin H. (talk) 13:05, 29 June 2009 (UTC)

## Images from Perseus

I apologize for the error, I think the best word is "belong", not "release", so this confusion. Perseus is a software of astronomy simulation. Copyright file (not "Readme") says "the rights of all file taken with the software belong to the author who take the screen". (it's in Italian, but the meaning is this). So I'm the holder of the right of that images and I can choose the license. Please don't delete images from Perseus!! Follows an abstract of the file.

4. COPYRIGHT.

Please ask to an italian admin that can confirm what I said before. Copyright.txt is included in the installation of the software. So please don't delete, I'm on right. Anyway, I've corrected the expression: look now, I hope this is more correct. I've requested to a bot to change this tense in all my screen taken from Perseus: --- Taken from software Perseus, all rights belong to the author who takes the screen (as written in Copyright file)

Abstract from "Copyright.txt", included on installation:

4. COPYRIGHT. [...]

Translated: ELItalia releases the copyright on the data used in the software, and authorizes any usage of the data supplied or generated with the software. The copyright of images or documents generated with the software belongs to the user who takes them. ---

Happy to hear this! :-)) Of course I can understand you, I miss some important information. Now I need only a bot to change all description over 400 and more images. Here is the request, I think it's a good idea to do it as soon as possible, so no other good admins will make the same error. Bye! --Roberto Segnali all'Indiano 12:19, 17 June 2009 (UTC)

Hi Martin. I'm not sure what you mean by "the terms of use of the given source dont mention every commercial use or derivative works". Can you confirm that the terms of use don't explicitly allow commercial or derivative works? I'm afraid my German isn't good enough for me to check for myself. ## Foxman

Hallo Martin,

--Martin H. ## File:ScreenShot.MovieDetails.jpg and File:ScreenShot.MainIndex.jpg

These two picture are screenshots of YAMJ on my PC usde to describe NMT's myiHome.

YAMJ(Yet Another MovieJukebox) is a command line tool, written in Java, which recursively scans your video library for video files (AVI, MKV, etc.) and analyzes these files in order to extract information like: year, language, subtitles, container, part, fps, audio and video codecs. Other movie and television information like, director, rating, etc. are collected using various plugins for online databases such as IMDb, TheMovieDB, TheTVDB, Allocine, FilmAffinity, FilmWeb, etc.

done. The image shows in large portions the cover of The Bourne Supremacy, thus is not licensed under a free license. If you make Screenshots of free software it should not show any propietary parts or copyrighted material beginning with the small Windows logo and ending with large elements like in this case. --Martin H. ## Public Domain Photos

Hello was this photo released into the public domain? [15] --Gaston S/Kpo! 09 (talk) 03:34, 19 June 2009 (UTC)

I was hopeful, but then I found another one, http://article.wn.com/view/2007/09/19/Britney_Spears_pierde_la_custodia_de_sus_hijos/, which is clearly not public domain, see http://www.celebritywonder.com/picture/Britney_Spears/britneyspears_027.html (WireImage). I think that article.wn.com can not be trusted. Regretably. --Martin H. (talk) 05:48, 19 June 2009 (UTC)

Hello Martin H,

I'm not personally familiar with Wikimedia Commons, I have never used it myself so initially I sent these messages about my situation to multichill's talk page, and he responded by saying I needed to categorize the photos, here is what I left him..........................

Thank You very much for your advice on letting me know my 3 photos need to be categorized. I just have no idea how to do this or what my choices of categories are. I really need some help placing them accurately. This pertains to the 3 photos that are now saved which should never have been affected to begin with, but my Wikipedia default profile photo was affected as well. My profile photo was on my Wikipedia page for over a year and it was uploaded by a Wikipedia editor, clearly a mistake to delete it from Commons thinking it was a copyright violation especially since I am the sole owner of this photo just like the other 3. I still don't know how this error happened, oh well, I ultimately just want my 3 pro wrestling photos and my default profile photo back on commons and properly categorized so they can be re-posted to my Wikipedia page where they rightfully belong. Hopefully with a minute or two of your help my friend this will be cleared up. Thank You so much, sorry to bother you again my friend, Jaderocker (talk) 12:33, 19 June 2009 (UTC)

I just checked, the category "Professional Wrestlers". This is the proper category to place my photos in. Just not sure how to do it Jaderocker (talk) 12:46, 19 June 2009 (UTC)

My last question on this topic, is it ok for me re-upload these photos to commons and license all 4 of them (3 pro wrestling photos and my profile photo) under public domain. Again, I own them and I now know commons used photos that are free. Please respond to me at your earliest convenience today so I remedy this issue that should never have happened to begin with. Martin H. is the editor who initially placed the copyright violation tags on my photos...................photos I own. Jaderocker (talk) 13:13, 19 June 2009 (UTC)

Category:Media needing category review in use at da.wikipedia

Jaderocker (talk) 13:42, 19 June 2009 (UTC)

Hello Martin, I just re-uploaded the first photo. I took the other editors advice and placed it in the category "Professional Wrestlers". Licensed it under FREE DOMAIN since I own the photo. Martin, let me know if I am leaving something out. Thanks,

Jaderocker (talk) 15:25, 19 June 2009 (UTC)

Martin, I just re-uploaded the other 2 photos categorized under "Professional Wrestlers" and Licensed under Free Domain. Take a look at your earliest convenience and let me know if I am leaving something out. Thanks Again,

Jaderocker (talk) 15:58, 19 June 2009 (UTC)

Thank you very much Martin! That is my pro wrestling Myspace Page, like I stated before, I never do any of this computer stuff. Not my cup of tea so to speak. Could you help me out, I just need to get these photos that I own uploaded properly to Wikimedia Commons so I can get them back on my Wikipedia page. I never knew I would have to go through all of this for my own personal photos. I appreciate your response, just want this small issue taken care of and I won't bother you again my friend. Thank You, let me know
Jaderocker (talk) 16:53, 19 June 2009 (UTC)

Hey Martin how do I go about getting proper permission on the 3 photos you labeled? How do I send a link to get everything straightened out? And lastly, why does my screen name have a question mark next to it now? There are question marks all over the place, feel like giving up. Man, I just want my photos that I own stored on Commons properly so they can be re-posted without any issues. So sorry to bother you buddy, just want this thing fixed, never thought I would have to go through this!

Jaderocker (talk) 17:04, 19 June 2009 (UTC)

Ok Martin I'll email that information on the photos to that address to get it fixed ASAP. I completely understand, even though I'm totally confused, that you have to do everything to keep everything safe and copyrighted properly. I really appreciate your help buddy. Hey, why does my username have a question mark next to it and other things as well? Let me know buddy. If I get these photos re-uploaded correctly, thanks to you I'll have to take you out to dinner or something, ha ha ha!!!!!!!!

Jaderocker (talk) 17:14, 19 June 2009 (UTC)

Ok Martin, someone from OTRS will check out why there is a question mark next to my username and fix it, that would be great. I just emailed the permission form that I signed and dated. How long until all this mess is fixed??????????????????? I so appreciate you help buddy! Keep me posted!

Jaderocker (talk) 17:31, 19 June 2009 (UTC)

I'll send that email right now from my personal email address: therealjohnquinlan@yahoo.com since all that POP3 stuff doesn't work.

Jaderocker (talk) 17:19, 19 June 2009 (UTC)

Lastly, can I go delete some of the junk on my talk page????????????? so much clutter in there

Jaderocker (talk) 17:33, 19 June 2009 (UTC)

Hey Martin I was able to get the question mark off my username but it is still red in color and not blue like it should be, no idea why, do you? Maybe those people can fix it since it is probably some little thing somewhere. Keep me posted as to when my photos will be ok'd with the permissions group that you had me email earlier with the info I copied and pasted from you. Thanks man!
Jaderocker (talk) 18:29, 19 June 2009 (UTC)
The only thing left to do Big Martin is for me to wait for the photos we sent to gain the proper permission as me as the rightful owner so they can be reposted to my Wikipedia page. I look forward to being notified when this happens buddy. Keep me posted and thanks for letting me know about the "red" letters. I appreciate you taking the time to help me!
Jaderocker (talk) 19:13, 19 June 2009 (UTC)
got your message on my talk page, so what you're saying in that last message is that I can put the photos back on my Wikipedia page? Just message me back on my talk page to confirm this. Thanks again my friend, you're the best!!!!!
Jaderocker (talk) 19:21, 19 June 2009 (UTC)
Thank you so much again buddy, have a great weekend! Message me anytime if you have any suggestions or helpful advice for me!

Hi Martin. Every images and text publish in Vikidia are under GFDL or compatible license. The photo of the piano, for example, is under public domain (it's from Commons). I don't know what I must to do now... maybe you can do it for me. If you can't explain me how. Thanks! --Mr. Seeker (talk) 03:16, 22 June 2009 (UTC)

## File:Bird of Heaven Plant in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.JPG

Hi Es.ntp, this was not about the authorship, i have no reasons to doubt that you are the photographer. My concern is you stratement It's free to share, served mostly for the non-commercial uses. Contact me in WikiPedia Vietnamese [User:Ess] if you would like to take it, except non-commercial uses. The license you selected, and the scope of Commons, allow everyone to use the image for every purpose including commercial use. If it is not your attention to give this images free for commercial use you might have selected the wrong license. Please remove the questioned statement. Also you can ask people to inform you about usage of your work outside Wikimedia, but you can not make this an requirement. --Martin H. (talk) 11:40, 12 April 2009 (UTC)

I wonder whether there is a better license for some additional conditions; if not, I might delete my statement. Please help me, thanks again for your enthusiastism and sorry for my being late. TanPhat Nguyen (talk) 13:59, 22 June 2009 (UTC).

## pointy cat edits

hi;

i am trying to organize the sexual/anatomy material on wmc into something that can be taken seriously, & you are vandalizing my efforts.

i don't care if you are an admin; if you don't stop, i'm going to file complaints against you all the way up to the wikimedia head office.

erasing an organized file system (an ongoing in progess) & replacing it with "penis self pics" isn't category clean up!

it's a joke, it's pointy editing, & it's borderline vandalism.

next time you do it, i'll write up a complaint, instead of a talk page comment.

it's your choice how you want to handle this, & what you want to do next

i'm sorry, but assume good faith only goes so far...

## My photos

Hello. http://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:Manu123el&diff=0&oldid=22060401 Authors of all photos, which you udadili is indicated in the notes. Most photos - my personal.

You wrote Автор неизвестен (author unknown) to all your uploads, so they can hardly be любительская фотография (free photographs). The author, the photographer, must agree to this freedom, so without knowing him... For that reason all your uploads where already marked as "no source" in May and now deleted because they passed the deadline of 7 days by far. --Martin H. (talk) 19:05, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

## Thank you!

For the speedy. --David Shankbone (talk) 22:21, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

Your welcome. Searching google for the filename brings three kind of hits (some now broken hotlinks from Commons, some from and on answers.com and two or three blogs). --Martin H. (talk) 22:30, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
Is there anything that can be done about that, or will only time remove them? --David Shankbone (talk) 00:12, 25 June 2009 (UTC)
I dont know if answers.com and hotlinking from them disappear with the time, according to the deeplinks the images are stored localy, maybe they mirror? The blogs are lokaly uploaded. If it is of your concern you may search for the imagename on Google and ask the bloggers. --Martin H. (talk) 00:18, 25 June 2009 (UTC)

## Hi again

Okay, well I obviously don't have permission from the users at the current time, but if you give me an extra week i'm sure i'll be able to contact all the of members in question. (Most of them are no longer active in the community, but i'll try)

Thanks for your time.

EDIT:

On second thought, can you just delete all the images in my gallery that I have not created myself? It would be a lot easier just to upload them again when I get permission.

Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by MarcellusWallace (talk • contribs) 22:36, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

## Images

Hello, you have deleted many images from the articles of Tlemcen, Ifrenids, Zayyanids. Can you prove that there is a copyright violation ? Best regards --Deezy31 (talk) 19:00, 25 June 2009 (UTC)

Any filenames, uploaders or at least: articles of which language Wikipedia? --Martin H. (talk) 19:04, 25 June 2009 (UTC)
In french: Ifrenids, Zianides, Great Mosque Of Nedroma. These are what i have checked, I think there are others.
Yes, quite obvious, see my deletion log for all deletions: my log (starting with the latest from this "case")

Your comment shows some great missunderstanding of copyrights. First: also a photo of a public person enjoys copyright - clearly. Everything is protected by copyright as long as the holder of copyright, the photographer in most cases, did not wave his rights away... in direct relation to your points:
• See above, at the time i checked the photo appears and there was a copyright claim on the photo.
• The photos where from the facebook account, but that does not proof that you are the photographer.
• Copyright lasts the photographers lifetime +70 years, it is not related in any way to the death of the photographed person.
• The upload was only 500px large, thats webresolution. After all the other copyright infringments I can not accept such claims. The image appears on other websites and is most likely taken from somewhere without permission.
• It does not help to contact the website, you must ask the photographers for permission that everyone can use the photos for every purpose including commercial use. Also the photos where uploaded all with "Own work"... what about this. You claimed to be the photographer, thats clear and blatant copyright infringement! The photos are created by various authors, you must have individual permissions from them.
Dont copy from other webistes and authors, make your own photos! --Martin H. (talk) 13:57, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

## Trisha Yearwood

I understand why it has been deleted, but what am I going to do?? I have tried in every way to find a Trisha Yearwood image with a free license, because it is greatly needed on Wikipedia. I have tried to upload so many. What about the OTRS system? Would that be helpful at all? Can you please tell me because I am very disappointed. Dottiewest1fan (talk) 20:22, 27 June 2009 (UTC)

Yes, I understand, it is very unfair though that's all I think. But thank you anyways. Dottiewest1fan (talk) 20:33, 27 June 2009 (UTC)

## Martin H, need a quick fix, please read

Hey Martin, I checked my uploaded photos on here and the "no permission" tags are still on 2 of them. Out of the 3 of them 1 is all set but the other 2 still have the "no permission" tags on them even though official permission was granted to me since my wife is the owner of copyright to the photos. If you could remove those tags and end this issue once and for all it would be greatly appreciated. I have a copy of the entire permission granted letter from Wikimedia Commons to back this up and I was told they should have removed the tags at this time and they never did.

Thank You Very Much,

Already done. --Martin H. (talk) 15:00, 28 June 2009 (UTC)

## Ok, Lets Talk

I dont know whats wrong... but i'll upload a lot of pics...and at the end... somebody comes and delete them... the thing is... a lot of the pics that i upload... are actually "MINE" and even that way somebody comes and delete them! and the plane landing pictures are from www.catrachowings.com/forum... wich i have permission for picture ussage... and when somebody tag my pics i do anything to make them legal... and even sending the permission somebody comes and delete it... so... instead of deleting pictures you should ask for permission and i will send it to you... and i'm sorry if i am being rude or something and for my bad spelling... oh! by the way the skyscrapper city images are mine too, the acount that uploaded them is mine! thank you! other thing... my name is Julio Cesar Coello... for other troubles....JcHnd

## Dank

--Martin H. (talk) 13:03, 29 June 2009 (UTC)
