Specifying a particular license[edit]

Hi Menchi, you have uploaded several photos, taken by you. It would be highly recommended to mark them with {{GFDL}}, otherwise these photos will be deleted. JoJan 14:43, 21 Feb 2005 (UTC)

Haven't we agreed to that when we uploaded by clicking the checkbox saying " I affirm that the copyright holder of this file agrees to license it under the terms of the Wikimedia Commons copyright"? Isn't this a bit redundant? --Menchi 21:24, 21 Feb 2005 (UTC)
No, you must choose the license (see Commons:Copyright tags and Special:Upload) and set a tag. I set a request for deletion in Image:London Plane fruits in air.jpg, if you don't add the license in seven days, it will be deleted. Have a nice day. —Breeze 12:23, 4 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Hi, the same problem is with Image:Clinical thermometer 38.7.JPG. Would you be so kind and put there a License-tag like {{PD-user|Menchi}} or {{GFDL}}? Regards --Julo 15:04, 17 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Re Image:London Plane fruits in air.jpg: Same as above, please state your license. Thuresson 12:28, 22 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Sorry for the long delay in reply. I rarely check in on the Commons and haven't had the chance to figure out the many license nuances. Julo's tags above are very handy. Thanks. I'll add GFDL to my photos then. I hope I didn't miss any, but apparently several photos (that I myself took) to London Plane Tree have been deleted already. You guys are really speedy. It's a tad discouraging to see works deleted as if they are on the same level as petty vandalism. Oh well, I live & learn. --Menchi 20:44, 25 Apr 2005 (UTC)
