Hi! I just have a question about the distribution map for Mergus merganser. In centralasia you have drawn a yellow streak down to the north of India following the Himalayas to Afghanistan. This yellow area surrounds green area which indicates they stay there all year. This green area concist among others of the dessert Takla makan and I dont think this bird lives there. Hi Merops - I changed the colours, as the yellow was not very visible, making narrow areas of distribution difficult to see; red is much more visible. If the map still shows yellow for you, you need to purge your computer's cache (alt+f5). I also added better detail of the range, from Lynx HBW (Asia, and wintering area), the EBCC Atlas of European breeding birds (Europe), and the Sibley Guide (North America) - MPF 16:53, 2 September 2006 (UTC)

Hello - do you have the original, unlabeled version of this image available? Or perhaps a version with numbers as the arrow labels, so that the image can easily be reused in other languages? I was able to create a version with usable English labels for the English wikipedia, but other languages would have more difficulty modifying it, and extensive processing would make the image less useful. danke für das Foto, von dieser Libellenart haben wir noch zu wenige Bilder. Kannst du noch eintragen, an welchem Ort das Bild gemacht wurde? Das ist bei Lebewesenbildern immer von Interesse, gerade auch bei dieser Art, die ursprünglich aus dem Mittelmeerraum kommt. Die Angabe der Stadt bzw. Ich sehe weder in der Beschreibung noch in den beiden deutschen Artikeln, in denen das Bild verwendet wird, irgendeinen Hinweis auf die Stadt Biedenkopf. Hallo, ich habe das o.g. Bild aufrufen wollen, aber es kam nur das X, was anzeigt, daß das Bild kaputt ist. Daraufhin habe ich zurückgesetzt auf eine frühere, funktionierende Version. Ich nehme an, es lag an der Größe von über 10 MB. Wenn ich was falsch gemacht haben sollte, kannst du meinen Edit ja wieder entfernen.

Denke aber bitte auch an die Menschen mit Einwählmodem. Ich z.B. habe nur DSL 2000, mehr geht hier nicht. 10 MB sind eine Menge Holz. Jemand mit Einwählmodem hätte keine Chance, das Bild mit 10 MB aufzurufen. Gruß, --Echtner (talk) 19:05, 3 February 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Locator Maps der Landkreise in Hessen

Hallo,
ich möchte Dich fragen, ob Du etwas dagegen hast, dass ich die von Dir erstellten locator maps für die Landkreise in Hessen austausche. Ich erstelle in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Kollegen TUBS schon seit geraumer Zeit svg-Grafiken nach einem Layout, dass in Deutschland in mittlerweile mehr als 155 Kreisen verbreitet ist. Wir haben bereits Niedersachsen mit locator maps zu den Ortsartikeln überzogen und Brandenburg, Schleswig-Holstein, Bremen, Sachsen-Anhalt, Thüringen, Sachsen (einer fehlt noch) und Saarland vervollständigt, sowie Hessen in Bezug auf Ortsartikel begonnen. Nun wollen wir das auch für die Landkreise in Hessen machen und hätten gern Dein Einverständnis zum Austausch Deiner Karten. Vorteile sind u.a.: Einheitlichkeit, Nachbarn und Flüsse sind dargestellt, Karten im svg-Format und imagemaps wird es dazu auch geben. Zur Orientierung hier die aktuelle Karte von Rauenstein.
