Either I woud cropp it all around (If you look at the picture deadful style on the description page: 0,5cm on each vertical side and 1cm on each horizontal side) or I would leave it, because the backround doesn't look as unimportant as I thought I I suggested the cropping.

Dear Alex, I did mark your image as Copyright violation because the Chicago 2016 logo is copyrighted (see: http://www.chicago2016.org/terms-of-use.aspx), I also believe that any photo of a 2D copyrighted object is property of its original owner (in this case Chicago 2016), for more information about what is acceptable and what is not, please see Commons:Image casebook and Commons:Licensing. if you want you can also contact with Chicago 2016 and ask their permission to use their logo/poster, for help about requesting permission please see en:WP:ERP.   ■ MMXX^talk  08:38, 5 December 2008 (UTC)

Hi, I noticed that you nominated this file for speedy deletion as a copyvio, for the second time. When I came across this image the first time, I removed the copyvio notice and changed the license to {{PD-textlogo}}. Due to the simplicity of the design, this logo is not protected by copyrights, and can be used freely for any purpose. If you agree with that, please remove the copyvio tag yourself. Hi, Nagy already removed the copyvio notice, so i'll agree with you two, however the image is not text only, and contains shape so I thought it could be protected.   ■ MMXX^talk  07:31, 27 February 2009 (UTC)

When the shapes are very simple, then there is no copyright protection, but it is sometimes hard to decide whether or not there is originality in the image. In fact, the threshold of originality varies from country to country (with UK having the lower and Germany the higher, I think). --Tryphon (talk) 11:02, 27 February 2009 (UTC)

Yes, that what it means. Of course, the trademark protection still applies (even without the template, but that a good thing that you added it to warn potential users), so that a competitor cannot use the logo on their products or things like that. --Tryphon (talk) 13:16, 27 February 2009 (UTC)
