Hello NuclearVacuum,

The Wikimedia Commons (this website) only hosts media files which can be used for any purpose, including:
- use in any work, regardless of content
- creation of derivative works
- commercial use
- free distribution
See Commons:Licensing for the copyright policy on Wikimedia Commons. Some other Wikimedia projects have different licensing policies. For example, the English Wikipedia allows fair use of sounds and photographs. This is not the case on Wikimedia Commons; "fair use" materials are not acceptable here.
Please make sure that you only upload works you have created yourself, those which are out of copyright, or those for which you have the required permission for the work to be used in all the ways described above. Please note that derivative works of copyrighted material are also considered copyrighted. Again, please read through Commons:Licensing, which is quite crucial to understanding how Wikimedia Commons works. There seems to be a problem regarding the description and/or licensing of this particular file. It has been found that you've added in the image's description only a Template that's not a license and although it provides useful informations about the image, it's not a valid license. Could you please resolve this problem, adding the license in the image linked above? You can edit the description page and change the text. Uploading a new version of the file does not change the description of the file. This page may give you more hints on which license to choose. Thank you.

[edit] World homosexuality laws map
Hi, I temporarily reverted your upload of the world homosexuality laws map to seek consensus. An editor expressed some concerns about the map at Commons talk:WikiProject LGBT maps#World homosexuality laws map (File:World homosexuality laws.svg), though I think the issues are workable if consensus is to go with the new map. feel free to weigh in, and thx for your work to help improve the map. [edit] Regarding File:BlankMap-World6.svg
I've reverted your latest updates as they broke xml validity (multiple id's for example). →AzaToth 01:25, 2 September 2009 (UTC)
- What are you talking about? I see nothing wrong with it. What does "regsrding" mean? — NuclearVacuum 14:03, 2 September 2009 (UTC)
- Was a typo, was meaning to type "regarding"; The main error in your upload is multiple ID's on some elements (which is prohibited per XML). →AzaToth 17:31, 2 September 2009 (UTC)
- Oh, sorry, I didn't understand. However, I placed in the map Abkhazia and South Ossetia (as like Kosovo is in the map). I took the one you insist on keeping and added the two states again. Or was it these that were the bad code? I ask because I have no trouble editing it. — NuclearVacuum 18:30, 2 September 2009 (UTC)
- The one you uploaded is valid; You can check http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fcommons.wikimedia.org%2Fwiki%2FSpecial%3AFilepath%2FBlankMap-World6.svg to verify validity; the one befoere which was invalid can be seen here: http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fupload.wikimedia.org%2Fwikipedia%2Fcommons%2Farchive%2F0%2F03%2F20090902174942%2521BlankMap-World6.svg&charset=%28detect+automatically%29&doctype=Inline&group=0&user-agent=W3C_Validator%2F1.654 →AzaToth 18:56, 2 September 2009 (UTC)

Hello NuclearVacuum!
Thank you for providing images to Wikimedia Commons. Commons images are used by editors on many projects in many languages. Each image is put into categories. This helps other editors find them. Please add categories to each image you upload.
To add an image to a category, add the following code to the end of the page.
-
For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbit of comets, add the following to the image description page:
-
-
This will make the diagram show up in the categories: Astronomy diagrams, Comets.
For further information on categories read Commons:Categories.
The CommonSense Tool often helps you find the best category for your image.
Here is a gallery of your images. Please check that each image has a category. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the help desk. Thank you.

[edit] File:BlankMap-Africa.svg
I've reverted your changes to File:BlankMap-Africa.svg since the new code contains none of the original css features and uses bloated code. To see the difference view the different versions in a text editor. /Lokal_Profil 16:26, 22 September 2009 (UTC)
[edit] File:Two Chinas.svg
Hello. I just noticed the map you uploaded, and I don't think it's accurate (the same goes, of course, for the raster image on which you based yours). For example, Colombia has official diplomatic ties with the PRC, so the One-China policy would imply it doesn't recognise the ROC as a legitimate government. That, however, contradicts what the file shows.
I haven't corrected it, though, because I couldn't find anywhere the list of countries that recognise the PRC and their official policies with respect to the ROC. --Fibonacci (talk) 20:00, 15 October 2009 (UTC)
[edit] File:Blank map europe.svg
Hi, thanks for making the new set of country locator maps. Don't know if you noticed, I uploaded a slightly updated version of the blank map File:Blank map europe.svg today (added Greek islands, by request of somebody at en:Talk:Greece), so you might want to use the updated version for any additional ones you plan to make. I updated File:EU-Greece.svg itself too. Fut.Perf. ☼ 16:57, 17 October 2009 (UTC)
- Thank you so much for the heads-up. You were the one who uploaded a new version of Greece didn't you? Well anyway, it looks great. Thank you again. —NuclearVacuum 17:33, 17 October 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Help with a template
Hello. I would like to make a template to help Portuguese speakers to understand your EU images. This way, in your files with the "Template:EU-SVG-en" , I would like to join a portuguese template (Template:EU-SVG-pt) like this:
My problem is that I don't know how to do it. If you would be so kind, I hope you can create, or to help me to create, this template in portuguese. Kind regards, Trebaruna (talk) 10:36, 31 October 2009 (UTC).
- Sorry I haven't replied sooner, but I haven't been on Commons for a while. As for the template, I created the article EU-SVG-pt for your code. Thank you for making the Portuguese translation. —NuclearVacuum 23:25, 3 November 2009 (UTC)
[edit] File:Location European nation states.svg
I noticed that User:Ssolbergj added Kosovo to the map following its disputed declaration of independence, and that you made subsequent edits which removed it. While I admit that it irked me to see that the fairly major and potentially contentious change of removing Kosovo was made under the ambiguous title "territorial fixes", without any discussion, I do recognize that there's more than one way to play the Kosovo issue.
I can see there are legitimate arguments for including Kosovo on the map, for removing it, or even indicating that its status is disputed (a lot of the India/Pakistan maps use a dotted line, I don't know whether that would be a reasonable solution here). Perhaps the file should exist in multiple versions and the pre-Kosovo version recategorized as a historical map. I'm not fussed whatever the consensus is, really, but I'd prefer that there was an open discussion about it (especially as there are clearly at least two editors with different views on this...). [edit] BlankMap-World-Microstates.svg
Hello, have been trying to use your map for the corruption perception index map: File:BlankMap-World-Microstates.svg. I feel like there's something funky going on with the small islands in the south pacific. Some of the dots that are there did not match up to any map I could find, particularly those to the far right, and there appear to not be enough of them. From the list you reference as your source for which states deserve a dot, I have: Tokelau, Nauru, Tuvalu, Marshall Islands, American Samoa, Cook Islands, Niue, Palau, Guam, Micronesia, Kiribati, Tonga, Samoa, Fiji, Northern Mariana Islands, Soloman Islands, Willis and Futuna, Norfolk Island. I couldn't figure out if you had a system that I just wasn't aware of, so I wanted to bring this to your attention rather than just changing it myself. Thanks, cheers -Talkstosocks (talk) 15:28, 19 November 2009 (UTC)
- I asked that very same question when I was making the map. You see, I didn't make this map, I merely made the markers visible for the nations smaller than 20,000 km2. I am aware that there are several islands missing, and I have no idea why they are not there. I would talk with the creator of File:BlankMap-World6.svg. Sorry I can't be any more help. —NuclearVacuum 18:49, 19 November 2009 (UTC)
