Liebe Grüße --Raimund Liebert (WMAT) (talk) 11:10, 7 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hab´s korrigiert. Dank Dir Martinus KE für´s Nachschauen und die Info, Grüße --Pimpinellus((D)) • WikiMUC06:11, 11 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Vichama[edit]

Hi Pimpinellus, thanks for adding pictures of Vichama to its appropriate category. I would like to point out some things regarding your contributions.

Don't place an item into a category and its parent.
  • First, It's unusual to name a category 2020-02-04 Caralkultur in Vichama. Categories in Commons are intended to group related media belonging to a single subject. Category:Vichama already serves that purpose. Consequently, there's no need to create a subcategory for a particular visit day to the site. If every contributor who takes pictures in Vichama creates a different subcategory for each visit day, it would be a mess. Commons is not a travel photo album, its scope is educational and for that reason pictures in this repository should be associated to a relevant subject. In this case the category doesn't need to specify the date the pictures were taken and its content pertains to an already existing category (Category:Vichama). For these reasons Category:2020-02-04 Caralkultur in Vichama and similar ones should be deleted. Please refrain from creating such categories.
  • Please avoid placing a category in several levels of the same branch in the category tree, the general rule is to always place an image in the most specific category, and not in the levels above those. See the picture on the right for further reference. Please read the official policy about categories: Commons:Categories.
  • It's great that you have visited Vichama and uploaded so many pictures of the site. Do you still have more pictures? One of the most important features of Vichama are its circular sunken plazas, however the only one you uploaded (File:Vichama Kultur Peru 15.jpg) it's a modern replica, not an ancient one. Could you please look for a picture of a circular sunken plaza in your files? Another important feature of the site are its reliefs depicting people, animals and geometric patterns. Have you photographed any of those? If so that would be a valuable contribution to Wikimedia Commons.

Thank you for considering my recommendations. Please, feel free to contact me should you have any question. Aucahuasi (talk) 01:29, 23 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you Aucahuasi for your friendly explanations. Unfortanetely I don´t have any more photos of Vichama. The view additional I had of Vichama were of bad quality and had been deleted. As far as the categories by date are concerned I will place them in a hiddencat, so that they no longer conflict with normal categories. I hope that that is a good solution. Best greetings from Munich sincerely --Pimpinellus((D)) • WikiMUC13:27, 23 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Pimpinellus: Thank you. Aucahuasi (talk) 18:47, 29 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Deshalb jetzt meine Frage an dich: muß man da erst nachfragen, ob man innen fotografieren darf?

Wegen Treffen kannst Du mich gerne via WikiMail kontaktieren. Viele Grüße --Pimpinellus((D)) • MUC•K•T 10:25, 7 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Flickypedia soft launch and a huge thank you[edit]

Dear fellow Commons photographer,

I hope this message finds you well. As you might already know, the Flickr Foundation has been busy creating a new Flickr-to-Commons bridge (“Flickypedia”) this year. After a successful demo at the GLAM Wiki Conference in Montevideo, the Flickr Foundation team is now inviting all members of the Commons Photographers User Group to be the first to review their alpha, reporting any technical issues or other feedback via the Flickypedia project talk page.

At the same time, this message is an opportunity for me to thank you for your trust and support over the past couple of years. Since 2017, we've grown into being one of the largest user groups in the Wikimedia universe. I've tremendously enjoyed interacting with all of our members when it came to joint photowalks at Wikimanias, virtual Zoom meetings where we covered a wide variety of photography topics, as well as our annual “Most memorable shot of the year”, among many other events. As I'm not running for an official position in our current board election, this will be my last message on behalf of the user group to you. Thanks for all the happy moments we shared together over the years! I hope you'll continue creating free images for the millions of people we serve through Wikipedia and Commons.

All the best, --Frank Schulenburg (talk) 19:36, 9 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Category discussion warning

MUC-Scantest has been listed at Commons:Categories for discussion so that the community can discuss ways in which it should be changed. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this category, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for discussion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it. If the category is up for deletion because it has been superseded, consider the notion that although the category may be deleted, your hard work (which we all greatly appreciate) lives on in the new category.

In all cases, please do not take the category discussion personally. It is never intended as such. Thank you!

You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.

Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own).

The file probably has been deleted. If you sent a permission, try to send it again after 14 days. Do not re-upload. When the VRT-member processes your mail, the file can be undeleted. Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded ([[:File:MUC-KulturTour Elektronische Medien 57.jpg]]) and the above demanded information in your request.

Notification about possible deletion[edit]

Some contents have been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether they should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at their entry.

If you created these pages, please note that the fact that they have been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with them, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

Hallo Burkhard. Hello. You uploaded some files in Category "2020-12-30 Cienfuegos" but some of them show the city of Havana. I think it is a good idea to rename them and place in proper category. Thank you for your contributions. Nord794ub (talk) 21:55, 6 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Viele Grüße Edeltraud Edelmauswaldgeist (talk) 08:23, 24 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Viele Grüße --Pimpinellus((D)) • MUC•K•T 11:08, 24 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
