If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikimedia Commons (see copyright tagging below). Sorry to respond so late - been a while since I used this login. Don't understand your question, as I stated that this illustration was taken from a very old edition of Scientific American, and it was lifted from project Gutenberg. Hello. As stated, this picture was taken in 1890, which puts it out of the realm of current copyright discussions. Furthermore - as stated - it is from an official Danish Navy source, which places it in the public domain. Hope this is helpfull. --RSteen 20:51, 18 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Saw your comment on File:Port ARthur Action.jpg, the image is a painting of the Lusitania in 1907 (before she was sunk), which was titled "SS Lusitania as an Auxiliary Cruiser in Wartime", which is notable because American claims have always insisted she was a non-military ship -- and it's clear that in 1907 the consensus was that she served in wartime. My apologies, I didn't notice that was the wrong painting. My description refers to File:SS Lusitania as an Auxiliary Cruiser in Warfare -1907.jpg which I uploaded at the same time -- not to File:Port ARthur Action.jpg; fixed the description, thank you.
