The permission to use this image was granted by the copyright owner, the publisher of the journal. It was sent from the journal's email address to Barmsbarms (talk) 13:31, 31 January 2013 (UTC)Barmsbarms

  • Then somebody will check and enter that information and close the deletion discussion as "keep". Thanks. --Randykitty (talk) 13:47, 31 January 2013 (UTC)

The publisher grants permission to use this image, email has been send from his email address to Many thanks 2433n

Hello Randykitty, please do not tage images as CopyVio in cases like the World Jewish Congress pics. The {{no permission since}} template seems much more appropriate here. --Dschwen (talk) 18:10, 5 September 2013 (UTC)

  • OK, will do. Should I change that on the pages that I already tagged? --Randykitty (talk) 18:24, 5 September 2013 (UTC)

Autopatrol given[edit]

Commons Autopatrolled.svg

Hello. I just wanted to let you know that I have granted autopatrol rights to your account; the reason for this is that I believe you are sufficiently trustworthy and experienced to have your contributions automatically sighted. This will have no effect on your editing, and is simply intended to help users watching Recent changes or Recent uploads to find unproductive edits amidst the productive ones. Thank you. Thanks for helping to make Wikimedia Commons a better place. You are correct, the National Security Law Journal (NSLJ) is the copyright holder of the two images you identified. I am the Managing Editor of NSLJ, however, and uploaded those images to Wikimedia Commons on behalf of the organization. As an authorized official of NSLJ, I determined that I wanted the images to be available under a Creative Commons license. Is there a better way to indicate that? Sorry, I'm new at this -- thanks for your help. User talk:Ayesnik

  • Yes, if you are the copyright holder, there is a mechanism called [[WP:OTRS[OTRS]] which you can use to release material under CC. However, please be aware that the article on the journal will soon be removed from the English WP, as the journal does not meet the inclusion requirements there. --Randykitty (talk) 18:28, 16 April 2014 (UTC)

Warning sign
This media may be deleted.
Thanks for uploading File:HCD de Wit.jpg. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.

If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-all}} to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.)

If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the OTRS system and follow the procedure described there.

Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for speedy deletion. If you have uploaded other files, please confirm that you have provided the proper information for those files, too. Thank you.

File:Journal of Avian Biology Cover 2014.jpg[edit]

This is the journal cover of Journal of Avian Biology. We, the publisher (Nordic Society Oikos), release these covers under a CC-BY license and allow them to be spread freely. See e.g. We are happy to change/adjust the copyright release so that it suits the demands of wikipedia if needed.

Johan Nilsson Managing Editor Journal of Avian Biology

  • This won't work, there's nothing I can do. You should go through WP:OTRS. Thanks. --Randykitty (talk) 08:29, 10 October 2014 (UTC)
