Saba Qamar[edit]

Being an indian, why you are doing enmity with Saba Qamar, usne tumhare baap ka maal khaya hai kya bhosrike? I saw ur delete vote on her image which was nominated earlier. Suwar ki aulaad gaaye ka pishaab pi jakar randi ki aulaad. 122.8.39.219 19:56, 10 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Wow - starting off starting rather strong with teh subject header, aren't you? Given it's here, and I know the article on Wikipedia has more than enough sourced information for notability, this is probably about an image that somebody stole from another website and uploaded it here claiming it was theirs. If you don't see a problem with that, you need to rethink a few things. Taking someone else's work and saying it's yours? Sad. Ravensfire (talk) 13:47, 11 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Picture subjected as Copyright[edit]

Hi, This which you claim to be picked from instagram. That instagram account is a fan page account maintained by a team of members including me. So, this would mean, it comes under my own work. Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cinemapremi (talk • contribs) 04:48, 22 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Cinemapremi: , that's unlikely. "Own work" means you personally took the picture and you personally own the copyright. That's also a really easy thing to say without any evidence. If you are truly the photographer and own the copyright, you'll probably need to work with the OTRS team to establish this given the history. See Commons:OTRS and follow the advice there. Until that is resolved, I wouldn't upload further images as without proof that you are the copyright owner, they will continue to be deleted and you'll probably be blocked. In any case, you CANNOT upload stills or screenshots from shows / movies. YOU are absolutely not the copyright owner of those. The latest image you uploaded looks to be a still from the show and should be deleted.
Also, if you are working for Nisha Ravikrishnan in any way, on the English wikipedia (not here), you need to make some required declarations. I'll leave a post on your talk page. Thanks. Ravensfire (talk) 13:43, 22 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for explaining me about the things to be clear with.My intention here is only to help in creating articles that would be useful for people to browse and know about a person.I would like to make it clear that any article written or any information provided would be done with clear declaration of citations.Just want contribute to Wikipedia in whichever way possible. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cinemapremi (talk • contribs) 16:58, 22 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Stop deletion of File:Anikhasurendran.jpg[edit]

Stop deletion[edit]

Here is the link to File:Sushil Chandra in his office --- https://eci.gov.in/honble-commission/shri-sushil-chandra-r13/ Aj Ajay Mehta 007 (talk) 03:27, 17 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. You've posted that before. I actually included that in the deletion discussion. So yeah, I know about that already. It does not answer who took the picture. And you're still claiming in the file that you are the author, that it's your own work and that you've released it under CC-BY-SA 4.0. All of which is false. You need to comment on the deletion discussion itself, but you need to offer evidence of who owns the image and under what license it is released. You just say anything you want and expect it to work. Image copyright is a pain to deal with - this isn't uncommon but you have to work with the process and not try to circumvent it like you've done. Stop the deletion[edit]

i got to know that u requested for deletion of image in Malik ul Ashtar Shujauddin. i reaffirmed you that we have proper and reliable source of that image. so plz kindly lift the deletion of image Mohammed.Khandwala (talk) 10:11, 26 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

User:Mohammed.Khandwala, there's a couple of problems with the image. First, the source is NOT a tweet of yours. You got the image from some place, that's the real source of the image. Second, you aren't the author of the image. . The source needs to be the actual copyright holder of the image, or a place that correctly identifies the copyright holder, and in a way that others can verify the information. Ravensfire (talk) 13:04, 26 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
To be honest, I've got a similar issue with teh other image you've uploaded as it's from a private website (which now forwards to a different site full of ads), no full link for where the image is from, making it very difficult to verify anything about the image. Any chance you can be more specific on the image? I'd rather not ask for review from someone else if you're able to add sufficient detail, but if that what is needed, I'll do that. Pay attention to copyright

The file you added has been deleted. If you have written permission from the copyright holder, please have them send us a free license release via COM:VRT. I have taken this image back in October 2014....and that the exif...data obviously shows that.... Times of India is using my copyright on the image and you r blaming me... Really disgus........you are @$#@# . You r @###$$. Aj Ajay Mehta 007 (talk) 07:35, 13 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Aj Ajay Mehta 007: Your tone of righteous indignation would be far more effective if you haven't had issues around images and copyright to the point I don't have much good faith left. You can contact and work with WP:OTRS to get the image restored - I would strongly recommend both the original image and then a crop. Spare me your attitude though, you've wasted more than enough time from others in the past with your antics. Ravensfire (talk) 13:01, 13 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

It is my own work hence should not be deleted . If anyone other issue pl intimate. Regard Harvinder Chandigarh (talk) 11:08, 8 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Harvinder Chandigarh, the image looks like it was pulled from a YouTube video of a press conference, hence the deletion discussion. Please comment on that deletion request, not here. Offering better evidence, such as the original, non-cropped or processed image would be helpful. Also, please don't remove existing talk page discussions when adding yours [2]. Ravensfire (talk) 14:09, 8 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
No .It was clicked by my mobile phone and not pulled from any YouTube vedio . However it was slightly cropped before uploading Harvinder Chandigarh (talk) 18:37, 9 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I don't understand[edit]

Why whatever I upload is deemed as copyrighted, when the hundreds of thousands of films, albums, and almost every creative works' cover/ poster uploaded prior haven't been done so as well? Why wasn't the user who uploaded the poster for Ponniyin Selvan: I blocked because they uploaded a picture published by the production team via Twitter? Why weren't any users who uploaded the posters via Instagram or Twitter for the countless films deemed copyrighted and deleted? Why weren't the album covers of the infinite number of music albums deemed copyrighted and deleted? Why weren't any of the innumerable images of copyrighted creative works such as paintings, book covers or even memes deleted? I'm asking this query to you because you're the one who has been continuously stalking me and reverting most of my posts so I have uploaded an image of my Mridangam just to be sure whether you would nominate it to be deleted as well. 𝙒𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙛𝙡𝙤𝙬𝙚𝙧2048 (💬) 09:38, 31 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Wallflower2048, Images uploaded here, to the Wikipedia commons project, MUST have a license that is compatible with the project. Please read some of the warnings that have been left on your user talk page, and especially the linked pages in those warnings. Images you find online are protected by copyright and nearly always do not have a compatible license. That absolutely includes images from Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and basically every other site out there. Taking an image of a painting does not suddenly make the copyright yours - it's still with the original artist.
The English Wikipedia does allow fair-use images, which is why you see movie posters and album covers in articles there. You have to make sure you upload such files there AND that you correctly say it's a fair-use image and fill out the needed fields.
Copyright is taken very seriously on the Wikipedia projects. You cannot ignore the policies around that and expect images not to be removed. Help:Copyright is a really good place to start, and Commons:Village_pump/Copyright is a good place to ask specific questions. Ravensfire (talk) 13:04, 31 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Mare Hira 2009.jpg[edit]

Film.Have Hira 2009 my producer my family member give me poster producer why blocked me? 1.38.164.254 04:37, 19 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I think you mean File:Mare Hira 2009.jpg and I think you're @Ashvin29: . It should be pretty obvious that anyone can say anything about something and that's not an acceptable reason here. For a copyrighted work, you would need to work with the Commons:Volunteer_Response_Team. This would need to come from the actual copyright owner, which may be a company, not your family member, not from you. A far easier approach would be to upload the file on the EN wikipedia as a fair-use image. Nearly all of the movie posters you see on articles there are fair use images that are uploaded on that project. The commons project does not accept fair-use images.
Also remember that basically every image or video online is copyrighted. You CANNOT take an image and upload it here unless it explicitly says it is covered by a compatible license. Copyright is taken very seriously on this project and ignoring it is a good way to get blocked. The messages you've been left have good pointers and helpful suggestions. Ravensfire (talk) 05:00, 19 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I have deleted the subject page. Both of the following conditions are unacceptable on Commons: "Under the following conditions: accuracy – you must reproduce the work accurately and not in a derogatory manner or in a misleading context attribution – you must prominently acknowledge the source" Commons images must be free for any use anywhere. That includes uses that might be derogatory to the person or place pictured. Requiring "prominent" attribution is also not acceptable -- attribution may be on a linked page or, in a printed work, collected at the end of the work.

@Jameslwoodward that works for me - I created that trying to work with a now blocked account to figure out how to handle some images. The phrasing I used for that template was broadly based on another template that you may also want to look at - {{Indian Army}}. I wonder if this is a case of the specific terms from the source website's copyright page doesn't match the underlying laws? Not sure. Thank you for the note on this. Ravensfire (talk) 16:04, 25 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Also, there's some discussion on that phrasing at Commons:Deletion_requests/Template:Indian_Army. Not sure if that would change your thoughts on this. Ravensfire (talk) 16:07, 25 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
