We created a computer program to generate random pairings of sentences from public domain texts and public domain / creative commons images. Some of the pictures we've selected come from the Wikipedia Commons. All the pictures we select ourselves, but the pairings and the text are random. Of these pairings that are generated, we only post the most interesting combinations.

Bildverwendung Gemeiner Wasserläufer

Guten Tag Herr Bartz

Ich arbeite für das Naturzentrum Thurauen in der Schweiz. Gerne würden wir das Foto „Water_strider_Gerris_lacustris“ für unsern Erlebnispfad verwenden. Ziel des Erlebnispfads ist es, den Besuchern einen lebendigen Eindruck eines Auenwalds zu geben. An einer Station kann man verschiedenen Arten in einem kleinen Weiher beobachten. Als Input werden kleine Tafeln mit Bildern der zu erwartenden Arten aufgestellt. Dafür würden wir gerne das genannte Foto verwenden. Wären Sie einverstanden? Hätten Sie das Foto auch in grösserer Auflösung? Wen sollen wir als Fotografen angeben? Wir sind Ihnen sehr dankbar für die Unterstützung unserer Arbeit. Gerne erwarte ich Ihre Antwort (hier im Forum).

Hi! I would like to ask you, that before you accuse someone with puppeting, look at the details. There is no puppeting here, simply, this picture is soon to be featured at huwiki http://hu.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikip%C3%A9dia:Javaslatok_kiemelt_k%C3%A9pekre and naturally supporters there also support the work at the commons. What the hell is wrong with that? It's not getting a featured status in the local wiki for nothing, either. So I don't get your reasoning, I though people vote based on the quality of the image... The image Commons:Featured_picture_candidates#File:Catopsilia_pomona_by_kadavoor.JPG is updated by an edit by Paolo Costa to reduce the jpeg artifacts and overexposure. So I request you to update your opinion too. :)

Yes; small sensor cameras have so many limitations that are revealed when we use them to their limits (Carschten is very right). I will go for a DSLR sooner or later; but continue transferring the existing files from Flickr because there are not enough species photos of Asia here. And in a DSLR, I think we need separate lens for small, medium and large subjects; so the investment may heavy. :(

Image lighting

Hey Richard, I wanted your opinion regarding an image. Some time ago, I opposed Taractrocera ceramas Tamil Grass Dart by kadavoor.JPG at FPC based on bad lighting.
