Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]
[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Hola, estoy viendo que has subido muchas imágenes de Molinicos, Albacete. Para poder disponer de ellas y localizarlas más facilmente es necesario categorizarlas, puedes hacerlo añadiendo a la descripción de la imagen lo siguiente: [[Category:Molinicos]], como he hecho yo por ejemplo aquí Así la imagen se ubica en su categoría correspondiente. Te lo pido porque, aunque podría hacerlo yo, es mejor que lo hagas tú mismo, ya que tú controlas mejor que nadie las fotos que has ido subiendo. Solucionado. Por si no entiendes el mensaje en inglés, hay que expresar claramente la licencia del archivo original. Yo sé, y mucha gente sabe, que OpenStreetMap es de licencia abierta, así que no hay problema a la hora de trasladar las imágenes; pero hay gente que no lo sabe y que desconfía. Sea como sea, la licencia siempre hay que expresarla, y en este caso, todo se soluciona con añadir la plantilla {{CC-BY-SA 2.0}}, que es la que se refiere a la licencia apropiada. En unos días retirarán el aviso que colocaron en tu imagen, no te preocupes por ella :) Recuerda añadir la licencia a todos los archivos que subas. --JJ - Schumi4ever (talk) 13:28, 17 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

RE: Mapas[edit]

Hola. Muchas gracias por tu apreciación. El tema es un poco largo de explicar pero te voy a dar algunas pistas.

  • Estos mapas deben de tener una carzterística para que puedan utilizarse en plantillas de localización y es que la proyección debe ser cilíndrica equidistante también llamada equirrectangular (los mapas normalmente son mercator o UTC que más o menos es lo mismo)

La razó es que el centro del mapa es el mismo que el inicio de las coordenadas meridiano 0 paralelo 0 (Ecuador) y no tolera nada de esfericidad. Aunque para que no resulten muy achatados se han estirado un 130% de forma que aparentemente no se nota que son de esta proyección.

  • Cuando se hace un mapa físico para usarse en una plantilla comomapa alternativo debe tener los mismos límites.
  • La forma de hacer mapas se basa en usar lo que se denominam datos SIG los cuales suelen tener diferentes formatos (shp, DEN etc) y van por capas que se pueden combinar.
  • Para hacerlo hace falta por lo menos dos programas un editor de mapas (yo uso Global Mapper) y un editor de gráficos vectoriales svg (como Inkscape)
  • De los datos SIG antes mencionados los hay de dos tipos unos son vectoriales (shp: ríos límites territoriales y costeros etc) y otros rasterizados (DEM: que suelen representar el relieve) yo los trato por separado haciendo el mismo corte que luego combino centrando ambos en inkscape donde doy los toques finales y ajusto colores y grosores de línea de las capas vectoriales así como calculo el recorte que debe tener para que loslimites sean lo mismos que en el correspondiente mapa político el cual pego y superpongo dejando al final solo el marco exterior (lo demás una vez que coincide lo elimino) que vale para fijar el tamaño de la ventana.

por último se importa a mapa de bit seleccionado que sea solo la ventana y seleccionando el formato png (al haber una capa rasterizada no se puede hacer en svg en este caso). Espero que esto te valga yo tengo intención de hacer todos los mapas autonomicos de relieve pero ahora ando justico de tiempo. Saludos.--miguillen (talk) 11:13, 20 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

RE: Mapa satélite Mancha de Montearagón[edit]

¡Hola, Siempremolinicos! ¡Perdona que no te haya contestado antes! Últimamente, trabajo bastante menos que en otros tiempos por Wikipedia, pero menos aún en Wikimedia Commons, de modo que no he visto tu mensaje hasta ahora. Por cierto, en Wikipedia sí he visto que has trabajado mucho en los artículos relacionados con Albacete. Te agradezco mucho que lo hagas, y me alegro. No dudes en preguntarme cualquier duda, pero será mejor que lo hagas por Wikipedia, puesto que me meto más por ahí, y mi respuesta será más rápida, por tanto.

Hace unos años me encontré con una situación parecida a la tuya para los artículos de es:La Mancha y es:Mancha de Montearagón. Vi la imagen Spain_Portugal_Jan_2003.jpg (sale en es:Península ibérica, y viene de aquí: [1]), y fue sobre esa imagen sobre la que trabajé para el mapa de la Mancha de Montearagón. Como puedes ver, la resolución da para la provincia, pero para Albacete capital no. Y la modifiqué con un método tan rudimentario como el Paint, porque otra cosa ni la tenía ni la controlaba. Lo que seguramente os puede ser útil también es http://www.maps-for-free.com/. En algún sitio vi que había sido utilizada, no recuerdo cuál, de modo que es la que usé para Mapa La Mancha.png (de nuevo, con el Paint para modificarla). Os será útil seguro para mapas, porque son de dominio público, pero vienen también imágenes satélite de Google, y aunque eso sería lo más útil para lo de la capital, dudo mucho que estén "libres" (de derechos) como para poder usarse sin problemas.

PD: Mientras te escribo esto, estoy "investigando", y me he encontrado con esta web: http://www.openstreetmap.org/. Tiene muy buena pinta, el plano de Albacete está hecho y está muy actualizado, y dice que los datos son libres de usar porque tiene licencia abierta. Yo creo que bien os puede servir. ¡Espero que te haya sido útil!
