Thank you for deletion, I didn't realize the artist was dead so recently. It's a mistake.

Teofilo, Don't know if this is the correct manner to reply or not, but thanks for the clarification -- changed the date per your suggestion. Mrslovettsmeatpies (talk) 02:52, 29 May 2009 (UTC)Mrslovettsmeatpies
[edit] Move requests
Hi Teofilo,
Could you please point me to a rule definition or a discussion with agreement that shows the motivation of the requested moves:
| Rename Category:Sunrises in Egypt as Category:Sunrises on Egypt. |
| Rename Category:Sunrises of Afghanistan as Category:Sunrises on Afghanistan. |
| Rename Category:Sunrises of Belgium as Category:Sunrises on Belgium. |
At first sight, I would say that the "sunrises of xxx" form is the correct one. --Foroa (talk) 13:09, 3 June 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Green/yellow
Hi! I replaced your version of File:Heimaey.JPG because it looks rather washed-out and has very low contrast. I would prefer the original version to your over-brightened one, but thought that version too could use some improvement. I may have put a bit too much contrast into the picture, but your replacement comment puzzles me: "I preffer when the grass looks green". I fail to see what grass in my version (or the original) that is not green. In your version the color borders on yellow and the sky has lost most of it's blue, so I am wondering if you have a very dark setting on your computer screen. /Dcastor (talk) 18:10, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Brasilian Airforce E-mail
I'd seen his offer, but he was offering to provide it only to admins. I have not received yet any reply to my email, so I might ask him for the address he has. --Ferengi (talk) 06:37, 12 June 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Suggestion
Hi Teofilo. I just fulfilled a few of your requests marked with {{editprotected}}. You seem to be quite knowledgeable with MediaWiki and Commons (I checked, it seems to be the second Wikimedia project you're most active on, after frwiki). I was wondering why you aren't an admin (either here or on frwiki, too). Is that because you don't want to, or just because nobody offered to nominate you? I'd gladly do so, I'm all for allowing people to help when they're capable of doing so, instead of filling countless editprotected requests, which is a much slower path to improvement. Let me know your thoughts about this. Cheers, Waldir talk 12:33, 15 June 2009 (UTC)
- Would you please point me to some of the discussions you mention? Since I don't know you too well, I'd like to take a look myself, if you don't mind. If I find them reasonable, I'll nominate you :) Note: please don't take this as an evaluation of your performance, I just want to have some solid ground for my proposal. Cheers, Waldir talk 14:31, 15 June 2009 (UTC)
-
- That one seems perfectly reasonable to me. If your other "conflicts" are like this one, I don't think there will hardly be any opposition to your request.
- As for "where you can help", my philosophy is: we're all volunteers, we should work on what we enjoy doing. Otherwise you'll quickly get bored of performing administrative tasks you didn't really want to perform. That said, I usually help out at Category:Commons protected edit requests; If you want to help with the backlog, I suggest you to take a look at Category:Commons backlog and find something you care about.
- Now, are you ok with me starting the adminship request? --Waldir talk 19:59, 17 June 2009 (UTC)

-
- Please, accept the nomination at Commons:Administrators/Requests/Teofilo. Cheers, Waldir talk 22:30, 18 June 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Category: Jezioro Zygmunta Augusta - discussion
Hello. Thank you for taking the time to concern yourself in improving the category mentioned above. Although I'd appreciate it if you'd let me know in the first place (since I'm the creator of the category) that there's a need to change its name (just like you've done it on Yarl's talk page). I'm quite new to Commons so this kind of information directed straight to me, might help me greatly in choosing more appropriate categories for files I send to Commons.
Regards,
--Simpledot (talk) 11:45, 17 June 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Your Request for Adminship was not successful
With regret, I must inform you that after carefully evaluating the opinions and comments of all types, supporting, in opposition, and neutral at Commons:Administrators/Requests/Teofilo, it is my conclusion that consensus to promote you to admin does not exist at this time. I am sorry. I would suggest to you that you take some of the feedback on board... be more sensitive to working in controversial areas, be more responsive to questions and concerns, and increase your experience level with various processes and so forth, and in a few months time another try might well be successful. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. ++Lar: t/c 17:29, 3 July 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Query Place
Be Bold! , but it needs a default (i.e the current wording) if the continent is not known.
In fact I'd appreciate someone tidying up not just Query place, but the following as well,(that were created for various reasons)
- {{Query species}} - Should categorise to Category:Unidentfied organisms - or with parameter to an appropriate sub-cat
- {{Quey chemical}} - Should categorise to Category:Media needing chemical classification.
- {{Query breed}}} - Could be merged to query species, but created to deal with 'breeds' of animals as opposed to species.
- {{Query experts}} - Intended to mark images that could be categorised in relation to some feature they show, ( I think the ones
I'd tagged with this showed some kind of earth science/geological process or features). - Query experts probably needs a param to say roughly what field's experts might be needed though.
- {{genparams}} Tag for images needing more information on their generation.
- {{Whose stats}} - Tag for charts/grpahs to request a citation for the data used.
If these can be worked into a form compatible with the proposed template standardisation, even better :) Sfan00 IMG (talk) 11:09, 24 July 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Atlantic wall in France or Belgium
Hello Teofilo. I suggest that Category:Atlantic Wall in Belgium or France be directly under Category:Atlantic Wall, because it is "or" (if "and", yes, it would be both under Category:Atlantic Wall in France AND Category:Atlantic Wall in Belgium).
[edit] Template:MWheader
I just noticed your edits to this template. The translation links addition was the right idea but it's somewhat redundant to the subpages parameter already in place. See MediaWiki talk:Uploadtext for example. The collapsible table lists all subpages of the base page. The subpages parameter can also accept a pagename to change this (like {{MWheader/special}} was created for I think. Is there some reason I'm missing why you created a separate template instead of adding the function to the main one?) I admit the template is a bit overly complex, but I was trying out a new way to handle parameters (that being they can be used either as a name or a value; i.e. both |param}} and |param=something}} work) so this may be why it's not that clear at first how to use it. And it's really my fault for leaving the template in it's current unfinished state for so long. I guess I was taking my time since it is the MediaWiki namespace. The thing is, I'm not completely satisfied with either method. The original method is good because it finds and lists every subpage regardless of what it's called (take a look at page linked above; there's no practical way to guess all those), but worse in it's display. Your method is better because it makes the links easier to use but worse in that it misses a lot of important subpages and relies on manually entered names. Another thing, the main reason why I have it use the base page name is so that it can work the same on translations subpages (without changing a thing), the negative side of this is that sometimes you are given an overwhelming amount of links for pages like MediaWiki talk:Uploadtext/ownwork. There may be some other reason I did it that way but I can't remember. I'll work on it. Any suggestions on how it should look? Rocket000 (talk) 23:08, 27 July 2009 (UTC)
- P.S. We need to not make it look like each language should use it's own talk page. All languages should use the main one (other wise things go unwatched and discussions get fragmented). Linking to them if they exist is good, but by using the format of {{header}} is gives the impression that's how it should be. This is another reason why it lists all subpages; usually those translation talk pages go unnoticed. Something like {{lang links}} would work too, but only for pages that match the established codes. Rocket000 (talk) 23:19, 27 July 2009 (UTC)
- P.P.S. Why {{lang links/subjectpage}}? What's wrong with {{lang links|{{SUBJECTSPACE}}:{{BASEPAGENAME}}}}? Rocket000 (talk) 23:45, 27 July 2009 (UTC)
Ok, I think I finally came up with a workable solution. For pages like MediaWiki talk:Uploadtext/ownwork it will look slightly more complicated, but this is because pages like that are an exception. The .../<lang code><keyword> isn't really a good naming convention but luckily it's not used for too many pages (just the upload form stuff) otherwise I would manipulate the subpagename to generate the keyword automatically). It should have been .../<keyword>/<lang code> but it's probably too much work to change that now. The reason for making the system message and talk page links separate parameters is because I saw many pages were linking to these talk pages would be useless. They largely were old translations and not discussion. But most of time only a self-link showed up and looked silly. And like I said before, we should try and keep discussion centralized. So lang links|talk links is needed for both in the rare cases you want it. Rocket000 (talk) 20:57, 5 August 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Friedrich Kellner
I responded on each of the individual files to your deletion requests for the four photographs in the Kellner gallery, and I hope you will find the comments acceptable, and that you will be able to remove the deletion requests. [edit] Your deletion request for File:Wm2007 DrorK and Bastique (with troll).jpg
I don't like people playing games. You have evidently singled out this image because it is mine, over the thousands of images on Commons taken by people of themselves for people they have every right to release the copyright for. I urge you to stop behaving like a child. --Bastique demandez 18:57, 3 August 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Patroller permissions vote
Hello, thank you for your participating in the discussion about if the patroller permissions should be enabled or not. You have opposed for the reason that there's currently no documentation about what the patrol right actually is and what it should be used for. This page has now been created at Commons:Patrol. If you still have any questions what this is, feel free to ask me. If you think the page should be improved, please let me know. As the desired page has now been created, I would be happy if you could reconsider your vote in order to find a solution that makes us all happy. Thank you. --The Evil IP address (talk) 19:20, 1 October 2009 (UTC)
