Hello, Zeke530!

Tip: Add categories to your images

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

Uploadwizard-categories.png

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]
[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations"). Pro-tip: The CommonSense tool can help you find the best category for your image.

Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.

New photos of Swedish celebs[edit]

What lovely new photos you have taken recently of a number of well known Swedes and uploaded to Commons!

In the case of Christer Lindarw I think his facial appearance is much clearer though in the old portrait of him from 1994, so I have restored that to his Swedish WP article. I hope you or somebody else will take a new one of him that is clear, and from the front, soon.

Noticed then that you had not found his own category (linked above), so you may want to check that the rest of your celebs have been categorized in their own categories, if they have such. Cordially, SergeWoodzing (talk) 22:35, 18 January 2012 (UTC)

Oscar I of Sweden, Duke of Södermanland[edit]

Hello, I just saw you posted this photo last September. Riddarholmskyrkan Bernadottska gravkoret.jpg

I do research on the coat of arms of the first Oscar of Sweden, I think on the left side of your photo, there the shield of Oscar Duke of Södermanland could you help me please confirm the .

That would help me in my research.

Thank you in advance, good day to you cordially--Dunkerqueenflandre (talk) 08:33, 25 February 2012 (UTC)

Hi - and thanks for the question. Unfortunately I can neither confirm nor deny that it is the Coat of Arms of Oscar I of Sweden. I have tried to contact the church but they have closed for the winter. If you remind me after 14 May I can make another attempt. Best regards, --Zeke530 (talk) 02:32, 26 February 2012 (UTC)

Hello again! I've already checked that. I also have enlarged other photos I have from the church. But unfortunately you can not suggest any names. --89.253.66.142 02:35, 29 February 2012 (UTC)
