Vágur has a handball club named VB (Vágs Bóltfelag), earlier it was also a football club, they changed their name to FC Suðuroy. VB are the women in red and blue shirts.

Memorial in memory of Royndin Fríða, which was the first ship built in the Faroe Islands, it was built by Nólsoyar Páll and others in 1804.
