English: Wilhelm von Gloeden (1856-1931) was a German photographer who lived most of his life in Taormina, Sicily. He is famous for his photographs of the male nude, in which he posed boys from Taormina. Several photographs of the male nudes taken in Rome and Naples in the same period by his cousin Wilhelm von Plüschow (1852-1930) are still erroneously attributed to him.
