English: British North Borneo is a country located in Southeast Asia was an independent state and British protectorate under the sovereign British North Borneo Company from 1882-1946, and subsequently a crown colony of the United Kingdom from 1946-1963. It is located on the northeastern end of the island of Borneo. Labuan became part of North Borneo Crown Colony in 1946 and subsequently Sabah and Malaysia in 1963 before the island been ceded to the Federal Government of Malaysia in 1984.
