English: Istiklal Avenue İstiklal Caddesi) - is one of the most famous avenues in Turkey, located in the historic Beyoğlu district in Istanbul.
  • İstiklal Avenue is an elegant pedestrian street, approximately three kilometers long, which houses boutiques, music stores, book shops, art galleries, cinemas, theaters, libraries, cafés, pubs, night clubs with live music, historical patisseries and chocolateries, and restaurants.
  • The avenue, surrounded by the unique nineteenth century Ottoman architecture, starts from the medieval Genoese Galata neighbourhood around Galata Tower and ultimately leads up to Taksim Square.
  • İstiklal Avenue is visited by nearly 3 million people per day on weekends.
Türkçe: İstiklal Caddesi, İstanbul'un en eski semtlerinden biri olan Beyoğlu'nun merkezi sayılabilir. Cumhuriyetten önceki ismi "Büyük cadde" anlamına gelen "Cadde-i Kebir" idi.
