- About his birthplace there is different information. Some call Kibi as birthplace, different again Oko near Doma (Greater Accra Region) (...?), again other Oko in the Volta Region (...?) and again other Accra as birthplace.
- The Ghanaian footballers André Ayew and Jordan Ayew are his sons.
- He is the founder, owner, director, president and main shareholder of the Ghanaian football club F.C. Nania Accra, although this club owned his wife, Maha Ayew, officially.
