Ceir gwarchodfa natur ger y traeth ac mae glannau Traeth Lafan ei hun yn warchodfa adar lle gwelir nifer o rywogaethau o adar môr. Roedd teithwyr i Ynys Môn yn arfer croesi Traeth Lafan i ddal y cwch fferi drosodd i Lanfaes tan i Bont y Borth gael ei chodi. Mae'r caeau rhwng y pentref a'r traeth yn dir porfa bras a lleolir Fferm Prifysgol Cymru ar ymyl y pentref. Mae'r eglwys, sy'n gysegredig i Sant Bodfan, yn dyddio yn ôl i 1878 ac yn sefyll ar safle'r hen eglwys. Mae Llwybr y Gogledd yn gweu drwy'r pentref.
