English: w:Abhayamudra is a hand pose where the right hand is held upright with the palm facing outwards. The gesture, found in Hindu, Buddhist and Jain iconography and practice, is meant to dispel fear and accors divine protection and bliss to the devotee. First mudra after Buddha's enlightenment.
