"During the first half of the twelfth century, five centuries after Ibn al-Muqaffaʿ’s canonical but provokingly elusive ʿAbbasid version was produced, a Persian administrator at the Ghaznavid court, Abū al-Maʿālī Naṣrallāh Munshī (d. second half of the twelfth century) wrote a Persian prosimetric version of KD, the Kitāb-i Kalīla va-Dimna (henceforth, NM KD).5" p.7
