English: The 20th-century art collection of Adolphe Schloss included 333 paintings which were inherited by his wife Lucie Schloss. After her death family heirs stored it in 1939 together at Château de Chambon, a property in France near Tulle owned by the Banque Jordan. That was the last time the collection was complete before the collection was removed to Germany during the war. After the war 162 paintings were returned to the family heirs. Of the 171 others, several have appeared on the art market since.
