English: Alumbagh was built as full-rigged wooden ship with iron frames and iron beams in 1863 by James Laing, Sunderland (yard no. 206, IMO/Off. Nr.: 47875) for Duncan Dunbar of London for the India & East Indies trade and for the Auckland passage with emigrants (1875). The ship was sold in 1880 to John Herron, of Liverpool and used as an emigrant ship to Australia and New Zealand. 1883 the ‚Alumbagh‘ was reducted to a barque. 1889 the ship was sold to Soley G. T. & Co of Liverpool. She sunk by a hurrican in the North-Atlantic with all hands 1892.
Her dimensions were: length × beam × depth = 58,83 × 11,03 × 7,25 m and 1137 (later 1138) tons. [1][2]
