English: The Bear Gulch Limestone is a Mississippian epoch, Carboniferous period geologic formation that records the sedimentation in a lagoon present in a landscape of mudflats and braided channels with fresh and brackish water, in an arid climate. The formation is best known for the exceptional soft body preservation found in the fossils.
