English: The Canonicus class of monitors were built by the United States Navy, beginning in 1862. The class comprised nine vessels:

Canonicus (launched 1863), Catawba (launched 1864), Mahopac (launched 1864), Manayunk (launched 1864), Manhattan (launched 1863), Oneota (launched 1864), Saugus (launched 1863), Tecumseh (launched 1863) and Tippecanoe (launched 1864).

Catawba, Oneota, Manayunk and Tippecanoe were the last to be built, completed in 1865 but never commissioned in the US Navy. The first two of these were sold to Peru in 1868.
