Chat Falls Generating Station (French: Centrale de la Chute-des-Chats) is a 188-MW run-of-the-river hydroelectric generating station and dam commissioned in 1931 on the Ottawa river, 30 km upstream of Ottawa, the capital of Canada. As the river is use to delineate the border between the provinces of Ontario and Quebec, the power station is equally divided: units 2-5, located in Ontario, are owned by Ontario Power Generation whereas units 6-9, located in Quebec, are owned by Hydro-Québec. OPG runs the facility on a day-to-day basis.
