- English: Claes Oldenburg (born January 28, 1929) is a sculptor, born in Stockholm, Sweden, but moved to America as a child in 1936. He was the partner of the Dutch/American sculptor Coosje van Bruggen

Januar 1929 in Stockholm; lebt in New York), eigentlich Claes Thure Oldenburg, gehört neben Andy Warhol und Roy Lichtenstein zu den bedeutendsten Vertretern des amerikanischen Pop Art. Besonders bekannt wurde er durch Skulpturen, die aus "banalen" Werkstoffen hergestellt waren oder subtile Alltagsgegenstände darstellten. Oldenburg war Partner der niederländisch-amerikanischen Bildhauerin Coosje van Bruggen
